PART C: CASE BASED QUESTION (1x3=3)

Any change in the velocity of an object results in an acceleration:
increasing speed (what people usually mean when they say
acceleration), decreasing speed, or changing direction. Yes, that's right,
a change in the direction of motion results in an acceleration even if the
moving object neither speed up nor slowed down. That's because
acceleration depends on the change in velocity and velocity is a vector
quantity; one with both magnitude and direction. Thus, a falling apple
accelerates, a car stopping at a traffic light accelerates, and the moon in
orbit around the Earth accelerates. Acceleration occurs anytime an
object's speed increases or decreases, or it changes direction.
1. Acceleration can be defined as rate of change of:
a. displacement
b. velocity
c. momentum
d. inertia
2. A car accelerates uniformly from 18 km/h to 36 km/h in 5 minutes. The
acceleration is:
a. 5ms-2
b. 1 km/s2
c. 216 ms-2
d. 216 km/h2
3. Acceleration is a vector quantity which indicates that its value:
a. can be positive, negative or zero
b. is always positive
c. is always negative
d. is zero
SECTION B: CHEMISTRY

Reason(R): light gets scattered by the colloidal particles.
Ans:_____
PART C: CASE BASED [1X3=3]

PART C: CASE BASED [1X4=4]

5. Read the following and answer the questions:-
In unicellular organisms, a single cell performs all basic functions for example, in amoeba, a
single cell carries out movement, intake of food and gaseous exchange and excretion. But in
multicellular organism there are millions of cells. Most of these cells are specialised to carry
out specific function. Each specialised function is taken by different group of cells. Since
these cells carry out a particular function, they do it very efficiently. Cells specialising in one
function are often grouped together in the body. A group of cells that are similar in structure
and/or work together to achieve a particular function forms a tissue.
