The Software that controls and manages the hardware
is know as the operating system (OS).
Need of an operating system
As mentioned earlier,the operating system manages and coordinates the
function of all the components of a computer-both hardware (such as
memory devices like RAM and ROM and peripheral devices) and
software such asapplication programs .The hardware in acomputer sides
provides resorces for performing the basic computing text.

very popular because they provide a user

system
