DCB Transactions

Hey there!

Welcome to your DCB Niyo savings account - your gateway


to seamless international transactions. Start your global
journey with us!

We've whipped up this handy guide to make your


transactions smooth sailing. We hope this guide will help
you find all the answers you need. Happy banking!
Set PIN to activate your card

1. On the app, select Debit Card (bottom menu) > DCB Savings Account

2. Click on Card Settings 3. Click on Activate Now and


set your PIN

There are two ways to set your PIN

1. Set PIN via IVR call to 040�68157777 or 022�68997777.


The call lines are active from 08� 30 am to 08�30 pm IST.

2. Set PIN via DCB Bank website

Keep handy

-Your Customer ID (find it on the home screen of the app) > tap on
your Profile icon > select DCB Savings Account

� Your Card Details to generate PIN with ease.


Once the PIN is set, your card will be activated.
Unlock your transaction channels

For the security of your account, the International transactions and Online
transaction channels on your DCB Niyo Debit Card come locked by
default. Please unlock them before you start using the card.

Select Debit Card (bottom menu) > DCB Savings Account >Card
Settings > Card Locks

for all modes of transactions.

Set your card limits

These are the maximum limits allowed on your card:

Now, these are the maximum limits. You also have the option to adjust
them through your app. Here is how:

Select Debit Card (bottom menu) > DCB Savings Account > Card
Settings> Card Limits

You should be able to see the current limits and change the domestic and
international limits for your preferred modes of transaction.
Add Money to your account

Add money via Bank Transfer

You can load your account via NEFT/IMPS/RTGS/UPI using your


unique Account Number and IFSC.

Select Debit Card (bottom


menu) > Add Money

You can also link your UPI ID and add


money with UPI apps such as PhonePe,
Google Pay, or PayTM.

The money in your DCB Niyo savings account can earn high
interest up to 8% p.a.#
Test a Transaction

Common causes for declined
card transactions

These are the possible reasons your card transactions could be declined:

Incorrect PIN
If you enter an incorrect PIN, your transaction will be declined. Three
incorrect PIN entries could lead to a card block for 24 hours.

To resolve this:

� Reattempt the transaction with the correct PIN after 24 hours

� Reset PIN through the app, IVR call to 040�68157777 or


022�68997777, or the bank website:

Locked Transaction Channel


Transactions may be declined if the specific channel (like online or
ATM withdrawals) is locked on your card.

To unlock it, select Debit Card >


Card Locks � Enable the toggle for
the required transactions.

Important: While making any international transaction (card swipe or


ATM withdrawal), if you are asked to select between INR and the local
currency, please select the local currency to avoid additional charges.
Exceeding Transaction Limit
Your transaction might get declined if it exceeds the set limit
in the app.

You can adjust your transaction limits


by navigating to

Debit Card � DCB Savings


Account � Card Settings � Card
limits> edit the limit for the
desired transaction mode

Insufficient Account Balance


To ensure successful international transactions, maintain a sufficient
balance to cover your transaction amount and the 20% TCS.

To add money to your account, go to

Debit Card � DCB Savings Account


� Add MoneyBank � DCB Savings
Account � Add Money

You can transfer funds using any bank’s app, net banking, or UPI
apps like Google Pay or PhonePe.

Note: If your transaction fails after following these checks, please do


not hesitate to reach out to us through our in-app live chat support.
We'll get the issue checked on priority for you.
TCS �Tax Collected at Source)
As per the latest tax rules, there is NO TCS on international spends up
to ₹10 Lakh per financial year.

Also, starting April 2025, there will be no upfront 20% TCS deduction
on international spends up to ₹9.75 lakh for FY 2025�26.

Just a heads up!


If you make international transactions from 1 am to 3 am IST*, there'll
be a 20% TCS deduction upfront. But don't worry, the amount will be
promptly refunded within 48 hours, no matter how much you've spent
throughout the financial year.

For a seamless experience with international transactions, please


ensure you have 20% more balance than the transaction amount.

The remaining spending limit before you reach the ₹10 lakh mark can
also be tracked within the app after you make at least one
international spend.

TCS Reversal for Education & Medical Purposes
1. Students: Reversal of TCS for college fees

If you pay for college fees abroad with funds from an education loan
or personal funds, here’s how the TCS works:

Paid with a loan Zero TCS 0.5%

Self-financed Zero TCS 5%

By default, TCS of 20% is deducted on all international spends above


₹10 lakh/FY. To reverse the excess TCS charged on college fees,
share the following documents with DCB Bank at
customercare@[Link]

� Education loan sanction letter


� Loan account statements (showing loan amount and transfers to
DCB Niyo account)
� DCB Niyo account transactions statement
� University admission letter (optional)
� University ID card

Note: Based on guidelines, the DCB Bank checks for transactions


that qualify as educational expenses.
2. Reversal of TCS for medical expenses

If you pay for medical treatments abroad, here’s how the TCS works:

By default, TCS of 20% is deducted on all international spends above


₹10 lakh/FY. To reverse the excess TCS charged, share the following
documents with DCB Bank at customercare@[Link]

� Medical transactions and hospital bills � Reference Numbers on
DCB Account
� DCB Niyo account transactions statement
� Prescription letters

Note: Based on guidelines, DCB Bank checks for transactions that


qualify as medical expenses.
What to do if your money is debited
for a declined transaction?

If your transaction is declined but money is deducted from your account,


here's what you need to know about refunds and further assistance:

Refunds for domestic transactions generally take up to 5 working days to


process.

For international transactions, the process can take up to 15 working days.

Please note that Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are not counted
as working days.

If you haven't received your refund within these specified timeframes,


we're here to help. For further investigation, please provide us with the
following details over the live chat support:

Date of the transaction


Amount of the transaction
Name of the merchant
Transaction Reference Number

You can easily check the status of your transaction and get the
transaction reference number through the app:

What to do in case of a fraudulent
transaction?

If you suspect a fraudulent transaction on your account, immediate action


is crucial. Here's what to do:

1. Lock your card immediately: This prevents further unauthorised


use. Here's how:

Locks > Disable all payment
channels

2. Report the fraud: After locking your card, inform us about the
fraudulent transaction by providing these details over the
in-app chat support.

Once you share these details, it could take some time for the
refunds. Here are the refund timelines for both domestic and
international disputed transactions:

� Card swipe transactions: Up to 30 days

� Online transactions: Up to 45 days

� ATM withdrawals: Up to 10 days


Smart Tip: While making international card swipe transactions or ATM
withdrawals, if you are asked to select between INR and the local currency,
please select the local currency to avoid extra charges.
