COMPREHENSION - 15 MARKS
 Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follows

Once upon a time, lion was the king of all animals. Lion was very strong

and powerful. No animal could fight him. Leopard, jaguar, elephant,

cheetah and hyena, all tried to kill lion but they could not.

One day, the animals had a meeting. Their plan was how to kill lion.

They saw hunter and gave him many cowries to kill lion. Hunter saw

lion and began to shiver. He fired his gun and missed it. Lion pounced

on hunter and eat him completely.

There was no hope for the animals again. They agreed that they would

send one animal to lion to be killed. The animals selected monkey to

go to lion to be killed. Monkey said, “This is not fair”. Monkey was

going and wanted to drink water from a well and saw his reflection.

Monkey ran told lion that, he saw another lion who said it was the

king. Lion shouted, “Where is that lion”? Take me to him at once “.

Monkey took lion to the well that the lion was hiding there. Lion

jumped to attack it but was drowned. He gulped a lot of water and

died.

Monkey told the other animals that he had killed lion but they could

not believe. Only few animals followed monkey to the well to see lion’s

body floating on the water. All the animals were happy. They made

monkey their new king.
