SONG 1: Frosty the Snowman

Scene 1
(Narrator enters Stage Right, pulls out a large storybook and begins to speak.)
NARRATOR: (Kimberly) It was December 24th, around two o'clock in the
afternoon, just hours before Christmas Eve. The city square,
in fact the entire town, was alive with the sights and sounds of

Christmas, but no one was aware of the magical events that

were about to happen on this special day.

(The children enter and begin working on decorating the snow man on
Stage Left.)

NARRATOR: (Shaylin) But away from the noise of the town, just a few miles
outside of town, two good friends, the children were putting
the finishing touches on their snow man ... a very special
snow man, as things turned out.
ANA: Wow! Look how cool those charcoals are for his eyes!
KARSEN: And how 'bout the red and green scarf I gave him?
CHARLIE: Yeah, but the corncob pipe and the button nose were my idea!
YOLANDA: You know, he needs a hat to make him a complete, total,
100% snow man.

ANA: Let's go first class and put on this silk top hat I found in the
garage. (Jackson puts the hat on the snow man.) It looks like
something Elton John might wear.

KARSEN: More like Abraham Lincoln!

(Ana, Karsen, Charlie and Yolanda laugh)

NARRATOR: (Nathan) Well, that silk hat with the bright red holly berries and
green leaves was just the thing. If ever there was a snow man
who looked like Christmas ... this was him.

CHARLIE: What should we call him?

YOLANDA: "Snowy."
ANA: Uh ... pretty good. How about "Ice Man"?
KARSEN: I know ... "Frosty!"
YOLANDA:
(ad lib) "Yeah!" ... etc.
/
NARRATOR: (Lexie) Well, Christmas is a magical time and magical things can
and do sometimes happen. The children didn't notice at
first, but something amazing was happening right now.

(Frosty the Snow Man begins to move, and then stands up to the surprise of
all the children.)

NARRATOR: (Nathan) You see, there must have been some magic in that old
silk hat they found ...
YOLANDA: Look ... our snow man is alive!
CHARLIE: Cooollll!! I wonder if he can talk?
FROSTY: (Elijah) Hey kids, can I join in the fun?
ANA: "Sure" ...
CHARLIE: "Okay" ...
KARSEN: "Why Not!"
FROSTY: (Elijah) I know, why don't we pretend to go on an old-fashioned
sleigh ride?

SONG 2: JINGLE BELL JOY RIDE

Scene 2
NARRATOR: (Ryleigh) The kids were amazed at the sight of a walking,
talking, dancing and singing snow man!
Unfortunately, the friends' fun took them far from
home, all the way, in fact, to MR. CRABBY's house,
that was near the town square. Now Mr. Crabby is not
the friendliest sort - he doesn't like Christmas, or any
holiday for that matter. Gosh, he doesn't even have a
Christmas tree!

(Mr. Crabby (Brayton) enters Stage Left and prepares to sing.)

Scene 3
(When Mr. Crabby (Brayton) finishes the song, he storms off stage and prepares
to re- enter through one of the doorways on the set.)

NARRATOR: (Kamaj) My, my! Well, just imagine Mr. Crabby's reaction
when he looked out his window and saw a singing and
dancing snow man, along with Jackson and Emily ... all
dancing around and having Christmas fun.
(The Ana, Karsen, Yolanda, Charlie and Frosty enter and begin dancing
around, laughing and carrying on.)

NARRATOR: (Ethan)Mr. Crabby couldn't believe the commotion that was

going on. Even though it was very cold that day – minus
twenty two, Mr. Crabby charged outside without a coat. He
was pretty angry!

MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) (entering on stage through a doorway) Stop it! Stop
it! Stop it! Quit that racket right now!
(The kids react)

MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) I just won't tolerate any noisy nonsense! No yelling,
no laughing, no playing, no nothing. I don't even want to hear

breathing from any of you, you hear me?

KARSEN: Yes, sir, but ...

MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) Ah-ah! No talking! Now then, this is my property and I
want all of you kids and that person dressed up in a snow man suit
to get off my land right now, this instant ... pronto ... and
you're going to do it quietly. I don't wanna hear anything but
silence, and I don't even wanna hear that. Are we perfectly
clear? Don't answer!
FROSTY: (Elijah) If I may say one thing, sir. We truly apologize for playing in
your yard and disturbing you. It was an accident. (starting to laugh) You see, we
were having so much fun, we kind of forgot where we were.
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) I'll say you did.

FROSTY: (Elijah) Sir, there's a beautiful park across the street. Why don't you
come and join us over there and we'll all sing and dance and
have a wonderful time, celebrating the Christmas season.
What do you think?
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) I think you've been inside that snow man suit
too long. (yelling) Now get off my property!
(Mr. Crabby(Brayton) storms off the stage.)
NARRATOR: (Garrett)The kids were sad. How could anyone be so
mean?

FROSTY: (Elijah) Don't be upset. Let's sing a Chrismas song and cheer
ourselves up!
YOLANDA: "Sure Frosty" ...
ANA:"Yeah, that sounds good!" ...

SONG 4: UP ON THE HOUSETOP

Scene 4

NARRATOR: (Mya) Everyone was starting to feel better, which was good.
But they forgot they were still standing in Mr. Crabby's yard, which was bad! Of
course Frosty and the children didn't mean to do anything wrong, but somehow,
without even realizing it, they were singing and dancing and frolicking for a
second time, right in the middle of Mr. Crabby's yard.
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) (storming back on stage and yelling at the top of his
lungs) No! No! No!

NARRATOR: (Mya) Mr. Crabby immediately called Officer Max, the town
policewoman.

MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) Okay kids, that's it! I'm calling the police! (pulling out
a cell phone and speaking loudly into it.) Hello, this is an
emergency! I have a major crime to report! Can you get here
fast?
(A police car siren is heard immediately as Officer Max runs on stage.)

NARRATOR: (Mya)Well, before you could say Ebenezer, Officer Max

arrives at the crime scene to check out what has happened.
But what Officer Max saw was just ... unbelievable!

OFFICER MAX: (Konner) (flabbergasted) Well, I'll be a .... what d'ya know?
There really is a dancin' snow man in Crabby's yard. And a bunch
of kids too!

MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) See, Officer. It's incredible. I wasn't kidding. Now,
lock them all up!
MAX: (Konner) I'll handle this. (pulling out his pocket radio) We've got a
974 here ... may require backup. There is some sort of creature that I cannot
identify except it looks like a snow
man. Over and out.

FROSTY: (Elijah) Hello, officer! Would you like to join our party?

MAX: (Konner) I would not. And stop that merriment! My name is Officer
Max. This is private property you are on, and you are all
trespassing. You have broken the law.
(Frosty and the kids react shocked.)

CHARLIE: We didn't mean to do any harm. We were having such a

good time!

KARSEN: Yeah, we just didn't know that we had ended up in someone's yard.
We really are sorry. We were just trying to enjoy the holiday season by singing
and dancing and having fun.
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) Not on my property you don't.
MAX: (Konner) All right, kids. Head on home now.

MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) Not you, snowboy. You're not getting off so
easily. Officer Max, I want you to take this one in. A price has to be paid and
this criminal has to pay! (Mr. Crabby then turns, and goes back in his
doorway.)
YOLANDA: But you can't. Hey, Officer Max, you like Frosty, don't
you?

Scene 5

MAX: (Konner) You kids just go horne now. (The children leave the
stage as Max continues) I'll get to the bottom of this, and
don't you worry, I'll take good care of your friend here.
C'mon, Frosty.

FROSTY: (Elijah) (trailing off stage with Max) Gee, Officer Max, it's a
pleasure to make your acquaintance. This is going to be a
terrific adventure, riding in the squad car with the siren and
everything. Thank you so much!
NARRATOR(Jaden) Of course, both Emily and Jackson were wondering
what would happen to their new best friend, Frosty the snow
man. Well, in no time at all, Officer Max and Frosty arrived at

the jail house. It was located in the center of town.

MAX: (Konner) (speaking to Frosty on the doorstep of the jail.) You have
the right to remain silent ... you have the right to an attorney ...

anything you say, can and will be used against you in a court
of law.

FROSTY: (Elijah)I really don't feel like being quiet right now. I want to
enjoy Christmas and sing songs. I don't know what an attorney
is, but if it's something to eat, that sounds yummy! I'm not
against anything, and I sure hope no one is against me. By the
way, thanks for the tour. The ride and the scenery were so
beautiful. (chuckling) What a wonderful Christmas!

MAX: (Konner) You're okay, Mr. snow man. 000, look at the time. Listen,
it's Christmas Eve and it's almost 6PM. I need to get horne to
 my husband and kids. I feel awful about leaving you here in
jail, but the law is the law.

FROSTY: (Elijah) Oh, don't worry, I'll be just fine.

MAX: (Konner) If there are any emergencies, I'll get beeped and be
down here in a jiffy. In the meantime, Merry Christmas to
ya. (Officer Max shuts the door to the jail and leaves.)

NARRATOR: (Alli) Thinking it would help Frosty, Officer Max left the heater
and the wood-burning stove on high. Within a few
minutes, Frosty broke out in a sweat. Then
something awful happened, Frosty the snow man
started melting away!

NARRATOR: (Jaden) Well, it was to be expected that Jackson and Emily

couldn't sleep much that night. They were so
worried about their friend, Frosty. But that
Christmas Eve, one of those unexpected, hardly-
ever-happens miracles occurred.

NARRATOR: (Alli) As the children peered out of their windows, they began to
sing. And eventually, children from all over the world picked up their tune and
joined in the singing too.

NARRATOR: (Donald)As children from everywhere sang the song, snowflakes
began to fall ... first, ever so lightly, then harder, until a raging
storm descended on the town. Snow began to fall right into
the police station through an open window and a small crack
in the ceiling. It even came down the chimney!

NARRATOR (Damian)Then the fierce winds actually blew out the fire in the
wood-burning stove. Soon the entire police house was filled with
mounds of snow, reaching all the way to the ceiling.

NARRATOR: (Adrian) By the time Max got to the police station the
next morning, she could barely get in the front door!
MAX: (Konner) (entering Stage Left, very concerned)
What in the world? My police station looks like Mount Snowy!
Oh no, [Link] Frosty? Frosty, are you in there?
(Max (Konner) grabs a shovel and runs in the jailhouse doorway)
NARRATOR: (Damian) Officer Max got her shovel and started digging as fast
as she could, until finally she reached the happy snow man.

FROSTY: (Elijah) (stepping outfrom the doorway) What a blast! Talk

about a winter wonderland! Wheeee! !
MAX: (Konner) Frosty, you have no idea how happy I am to see you!
NARRATOR: (Donald) Fortunately for Frosty, the children and lots of their
friends got up early that morning and came down to the
police station to check on their magical friend. Well, okay,
first they opened some Christmas presents, then they came
down to the station.
MAX: (Konner) Kids! Am I glad to see you! I need your help here!
ANA: Sure! ...
CHARLIE: We'll help!
NARRATOR(Adrian) The kids all helped fix Frosty by adding a little snow here
and there. And in no time at all, Frosty was his old dancing
and singing self again.

NARRATOR: (Mack) But right in the middle of all the fun ...
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) (storming out of his doorway) What nonsense is this? I
thought that snow man was locked up tight! Officer Max, I
will speak with you this instant!
MAX: (Konner) Mr. Crabby, I can explain. I responded to a 974 - that's an
emergency, at 14 hundred hours - that's the time of day, and found the
incarceration facility - that's the jail, undergoing a 6565 - that's a burial by snow. I
determined that prisoner 579 - that's Frosty the snow man, must be released for his
own safety ASAP - that's right away.
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) (with great anger) But what about all that racket?
MAX: (Konner) I'd explain that as a 237.
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) What on earth is a 237?

MAX: (Konner) Some good clean holiday fun. By the way, I notice you're
tapping your feet there, Mr. Crabby.
MR. CRABBY: (Brayton) Nonsense, it must be frostbite or something.
MAX: (Konner) (chuckles to self) Looks like a 237 to me.
NARRATOR: (Mack) In the end, there were a couple of miracles that Christmas.
Frosty was saved by the magical power of a children's song, and a cranky old man
by the name of Mr. Crabby caught just the tiniest bit of the spirit of Christmas.
