Circular: Invitation for IX–XII Poster Making, Rangoli, and Sketching Competition

Dear Principal,

RPS International School, Sector – 50, Gurugram, is pleased to invite your students to participate in the Intra
RPS IX–XII Poster Making, Rangoli, and Sketching Competition scheduled to be held on 21st August
2025.

We kindly request you to register your teams by 10th August 2025 and send the completed registration form
to us via email.

Reporting Time: 8:00 AM sharp

Teams arriving late will forfeit their eligibility to participate to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

Dress Code: Regular school uniform.

ID Card: Mandatory for all participants.

Rangoli Making Competition
Rules:
1. The Rangoli art must be created within a 4 ft × 4 ft area.

2. Themes:
 Welcome
 Any Bird or Flower
 Save Girl Child
 Any Festival
 Any Prominent Personality
(Note: The use of edible materials such as pulses, rice, wheat, etc., is strictly prohibited.)

3. Participation is individual only.

4. The event will be conducted offline.

5. There will be only one round of competition.

6. Participants must bring all required materials on their own.

7. A total of 1 hour 30 minutes will be given to complete the Rangoli. No extra time will be allowed.

8. Prizes will be awarded for First, Second, and Third positions.

9. Participants must strictly adhere to the allotted time.

10. The decision of the jury will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

11. Organizers reserve the right to make last-minute changes to the rules if necessary.

 Overall Appearance and Visual Appeal

 Design and Theme

 Detailing and Clarity in Rangoli Art

 Color Combination

 Creativity and Originality of Ideas


POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
Rules:

1. Each participant can prepare only one poster.

2. Posters must be made on A3 size sheets with margins of 0.5 inches, using black pen/marker. (A3
sheets will be provided by the host school.)

3. Posters can be made using any colors. Photographs, wires, other 3D objects, or printouts are not
acceptable—the work must be original and hand-made.

4. The topic of the poster and theme must be clearly mentioned at the top margin of the poster.

Topics:

 Any Social Issue

 Save Water/Environment/Earth, etc.

 Invitation-like Posters

 (Themes related to carnivals, festivals, or exhibitions are not allowed.)

5. Posters should contain only the participant’s details as specified in the registration form. No
additional personal information should be included.

Judgement Criteria
 Relevance to the theme

 Originality

 Artistic composition

 Creativity

 Message conveyed by the poster

 Effectiveness in communicating the intended message


Sketching Competition
Theme for Sketching
Participants may choose any one of the following themes:

1. Sketch of any Leader

2. Sports Personality

3. Prominent Personality

Rules:
1. The competition will be conducted for a duration of two hours only.

2. Drawing sheets will be provided by the host school.

3. Participants must bring their own sketching materials.

4. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners.

5. Prior confirmation of participation is compulsory. Intimation must be submitted exclusively through


the registration form.

6. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding on all participants.

Judgement Criteria
 The sketches will be evaluated based on:

 Sketching and shading techniques

 Accuracy of resemblance

 Balance and light effects


Chess Competition (U-14 & U-17 Girls & Boys)

Chess Rules and Regulations:


1. The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws and Round Robin
System.
2. Four teams from each school U-14 & 17 (1 boy and 1 girl team in each category).
3. Each team consists of 4 players (No Substitute).
4. Round Robin Team event for all categories.
5. Time Control: 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment from move 1.
6. Players must wear proper School Uniform.
7. Chief Arbiter's decision is final.

General Instructions:
1. Teams must be accompanied by an authorized teacher/coach.
2. Escorting officials must bring their I-Cards.
3. Bonafide Birth certificates required at reporting.

Age Criteria:
. U-14 (Boys & Girls): Born on or After 1st January 2011
. U-17 (Boys & Girls): Born on or After 1st January 2008

Note:
. Board order of the playing team will be fixed as per entry form.
. No team will be allowed to change the board order after sending the entry
form.
. All teams will play against all teams in a round robin format.
. Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals will be provided to the top 3 winning teams.
. Team Trophy Criteria: - 1st Place- 5pts., 2nd Place- 3pts., 3rd Place- 1pt.
. 1 Board Prize for each table’s best performer.
. Tiebreakers: Match points, Game points, Direct encounter
