Interviewing Questions

1. Can you introduce yourself?

Yes, my full name is Bạch Quang Tín. I’m now a junior majoring in English
pedagogy at Dalat University. I love to learn English so I hope to bring my
passion and enthusiasm for English to all of the students at VUS. Besides,
I have a sense of humor, which I think is suitable for younger students at
VUS to have interesting moments with me.
2. Do you have any strengths and weaknesses?
- Strengths: sense of humor => give comfort to all students without
letting them feel stressed.
- Weaknesses: a short memory => overcome this: use the notes to keep
track of tasks and to ensure that I don’t miss anything important. => help
me significantly improve my task management and accuracy in my work.
3. Why are you interested in the English Teaching Assistant
position?
=> Because I’m now a university student, not a genuine English teacher.
Therefore, I consider that being an English teaching assistant can be a
stepping stone for me to observe other experienced teachers and gain
knowledge in teaching later. That’s why I’m really into this role in your
center.
4. What teaching methods or strategies do you find effective for
engaging students in language learning?
Interactive methods like role-playing, multimedia, and task-based learning
are effective. They keep lessons dynamic and relevant, fostering student
engagement. => FOR ME: telling a story at the first of the lesson can be
a great way to gain all the students’ attention.
5. How do you handle challenging classroom situations or student
behavior?
In my opinion, the best way is to investigate the root cause so that we
can come to a good solution. For example, when students have
disagreements leading to loud arguments, I will question and know the
reason is that they are jealous of each other’s gifts from the teacher. Then
the best solution is to give them the same gift to avoid jealousy.
6. How do you ensure a positive learning environment in the
classroom?
=> I establish clear expectations and foster a respectful atmosphere. By
building strong relationships with students and using positive
reinforcement, I create a supportive and inclusive environment where
students feel safe to express themselves and participate.
