communities: some might be better off because they have more
resources, some might suffer because the only source of help is too

only, the pandemic could never have been handled.

Essay:
Some people argue that it is impossible for us to offer a helping hand to
everyone around the world, therefore, we had better be involved in
supporting the needy in our communities and countries only. Personally, I am
not in favor of this opinion and believe that it is beneficial to also engage
ourselves in improving the lives of people outside of our areas.
For a variety of reasons, it is wrong to limit our help to our communities.
Firstly, this limitation can divide the world into the fortunate and the
underprivileged areas. To be more specific, there are countries where local
help is more available, such as the ones with more favorable climates or a
younger population. These nations can react faster and more thoroughly in
case of a food crisis or other humanitarian crises, while their disadvantaged
counterparts with harsh weather and aging populations are prone to suffer.
Secondly, the motto to “only help your people” can take a heavy toll on the
sense of inclusivity and selflessness of future generations by implying that it
is alright acceptable to ignore other people in need because of their origins.
In my opinion, involving involvement in supporting the needy no matter
where they come from can undoubtedly benefit us as a global community. A
network of countries composed of members who are willing to help one
another is a pillar of a sustainable global society. For example, during the
Covid-19 pandemic, had it not been for the free vaccines vaccine donations
from stronger nations to the less fortunate countries, the outbreak would
have been a lot more challenging to control. Moreover, in the long run, the
practice of offering help regardless of the region will encourage and inspire
the next generation to be inclusive and grateful for what they have.
In conclusion, help should not be restricted to one’s nation or community
since it can lead to distance among countries with different resources and
have a negative influence on the awareness of younger generations. Instead,
we should join hands to help people in need to build and consolidate a close-
