•much of the land is too dry or too rugged for farming
South Asia

glaciers, rainforests, valleys, deserts, and
grasslands that are typical of much larger
continents;
•surrounded by three water bodies: the Bay of
Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea;
