Absolute Dedication to God Explained
Absolute Dedication to God Explained
Come to Him with the certainty that the living Christ will come to you with power.
of His death and the power of His life. I was in Scotland, I was in company
of several people, and we were talking together about the situation of the Church of Christ,
and the needs of the Church and believers; there was among us a servant of God
who was responsible for training Christians for the work of God. I asked him what was,
in his opinion, the greatest need of the Church, and what message needed to be preached.
He replied to me calmly, with assurance: "The absolute dedication to God is
the main thing.
What Ben-Hadad was asking for was an unconditional surrender, and Ahab did this.

Here I am, I am Yours with all that I have!" These words, I wish that every Christian
may address them to God: "King, my lord, I am Yours with all that I have!"
If we want to be blessed by God, we must fully dedicate ourselves to Him.
Ben-Hadad, king of Syria, gathered all his army; he had with him thirty-two.

Hadad: Your silver and your gold are mine, your women and your most beautiful children belong to me.
Hello. The king of Israel replied: King, my lord, as you say, I am yours with all
what I have". (1 Kings 20:1-4)
This servant began to explain to me that among those he had to train for service
of God, those who were truly consecrated, even if they were not very advanced
in the knowledge of spiritual things, had the desire to be instructed and to do
progress, while those who were not really dedicated often returned
behind and abandoned the work of God. The first condition, to obtain the
Divine blessing in all its fullness is to be entirely devoted to God.
God answers the prayers that you address to Him for yourself and for those who you
surrounding you by asking this question: "Do you want to devote yourself entirely to Me?
? » What will you answer him? God knows there are hundreds of Christians who have
answered affirmatively in the secrecy of their heart, and that hundreds of others
want to do it, but do not dare. Finally, there are those who said yes, but failed.
and who feel condemned because they have not found the secret of power
to live this life of consecration.
Let us first see what God requires from us. God is the Fountain of Life, the unique.
Source of existence, power, and goodness, and throughout the universe, there is nothing of
Good that is not the work of God. God created the sun, the moon, the stars, the flowers,
trees and grass; all these things belong to him and are subject to him.
When God adorns the lilies of the fields in all their splendor, is not the lily
entirely submitted to God, consecrated to Him who gives him his beauty? Do you believe?
May God do His work in the hearts of His redeemed children if they are not
not fully devoted to Him? It is impossible. God is life, love, blessing,
power and infinite beauty, and God takes pleasure in granting all his gifts to
every Christian ready to receive Him; but it is precisely the absence of this
absolute consecration that prevents God from acting.
You know that, in everyday life, every object must be used for a
special and clearly defined job. I have a pen in my pocket. This pen is
entirely dedicated to a single function, writing. And for me to be able to write
Clearly, this pen must be guided by my hand. If someone else holds it...
At the same time as me, it will be impossible for him to write legibly.
But God does not ask you to fully dedicate yourself to Him on your own.
forces, or by the power of your will; God wants to accomplish the work in you. Do not
Do we not read in the Word of God: 'It is God who works in you to will and to do...
to do it, as he pleases? "We must prostrate ourselves before God until this
that our hearts have learned to believe that the Eternal Himself will come in us to
to chase away what is false, to remove what is bad and to do what is good for Him
eyes.
If something holds you back, if you are frightened by the thought of the sacrifice to be made,
come to God today and test Him; what He will command you to do,
He will give you the strength to accomplish it. God comes to you and offers you to accomplish.
his work in you. All these desires that are in your heart, it is the action of
the divine magnet that is Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a life of complete dedication,
He has taken possession of you, He lives in your heart through His Holy Spirit. You have Him
resisted for a long time, but God is calling you now to humble yourself and to
trust in Him, so that you can belong to Him completely. He draws near to you
today. Do you not want to come and confide in Him so that He can accomplish
His work in you and sanctify you?
God accepts what we bring Him. God works in the secrecy of our
heart, God urges us through His Holy Spirit to come to Him and to surrender ourselves to Him
entirely. But remember that when you draw near to God to
dedicate yourself to Him, you can be aware of the imperfection of this
consecration and to say to you: "Is it absolute?"
Remember that one day Jesus Christ said to a man: "Everything is possible for him
"I believe! Help my unbelief!"
(Mr 9:24) And this faith triumphed over the demon and the demon was cast out. If you come to
God saying: "Lord, I dedicate myself to You completely," even if you say it
with a trembling heart and with the feeling of your helplessness and your
imperfection, God will do His work in you. Fear nothing, come as you are,
and the power of the Holy Spirit will manifest its strength in your weakness.
Do you not know that the Holy Spirit acts with power, despite the weakness of the
human nature? See the Lord Jesus at Gethsemane. The Bible tells us that 'by
an eternal spirit, He offered Himself to God. The Spirit of God made him capable
to accomplish this sacrifice. And yet what sadness, what anguish, what agony and
What a prayer! Outwardly, we see no sign of the power of the Saint-
Esprit, et pourtant l’Esprit de Dieu était là. De même, quoique faible et tremblant,
believe that the Spirit of God is working in you, do not be afraid, but surrender yourself to Him.
If God allows the sun to shine day after day, without interruption, will He not

experience? Because you did not put your trust in God, because you
you have not devoted yourself to God with this certainty.
The life of total dedication has its difficulties. I do not deny it. And even this life
presents much more than difficulties: it is a life that is impossible for
men of life. But, by the grace of God, by the power of God, by the
power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us, this life is possible for us, God
Be praised. Believe that God will sustain you. Some of you have read the life of this
grand Christian, George Müller who, on the day of his ninetieth birthday,
spoke of God's goodness towards him.
What was the secret of his happiness and the blessings he had received from God? He
said that there were two reasons. The first is that, by the grace of God, he had
to maintain a pure conscience day after day; the second is that he loved the
Word of God. It is true. Keep a pure conscience through obedience.
entirely to God day after day, and to be in communion with Him through His Word and by the
prayer, this is what a life of complete dedication is.
We should humble ourselves before God and confess the state of the entire Church to Him. He
There are no words to describe the sad state of the Church of Christ on earth. Think
to the Christians around you. I am not talking about nominal Christians, or about
Christians professing, but hundreds and thousands of honest and zealous Christians
who do not live for the glory of God, nor by His power. We need
confess the sins of the people of God and humble ourselves. We
we are members of this sick body, and the sick state of this body will be an obstacle
for us, unless we come to God to give ourselves
entirely and absolutely to God.
Even in the work of God, we see the will manifesting itself and the
clean thoughts; very few are those who expect God and let themselves be guided by Him.
the Holy Spirit. Let us confess it.
I heard about a zealous Christian who said that the thought of separation and
death was "cruel". Is that your thought? Is that what a Christian should think?
Death was for Christ the path to glory. For the joy that was set before Him, He has
suffered the cross. It is at the cross that the eternal glory of Christ was born.
Do you love Christ? Do you desire to live in Him and not as Him? Then death must
to be for you the most desirable thing there is; the death to oneself, the union with
Christ. The separation, do you think it is hard to be free from the world, and by that
to be united with God and His love, to be prepared by this separation to live and to
walking with God every day?
Oh! Come to Christ and cast at His feet your carnal and selfish life! Then, entrust...
you in Him. Do not tire yourself trying to understand everything about this, but come
to Him with the certainty that the living Christ will come in you with the power of His
death and the power of His life. And the Holy Spirit will give you Christ in full, Christ
crucified and Christ resurrected and living in glory.
