GUIDED STUDY

The Guided Study integrates the Diverse Curriculum Core within content innovations,
method and management of Full-Time Schools. It aims to "teach" adolescents and young people how to study,
support him and guide him in his daily studies, through the use of study techniques that will assist him in his
learning process, ensuring the appropriate space for the conduct of Guided Study, aiming to
academic excellence and the acquisition of socio-emotional skills.
The classes of the Guided Study address fundamental issues for conducting a good study,
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, PERSONAL ORGANIZATION, MATERIAL ORGANIZATION
STUDY TECHNIQUES.
These classes were designed for teenagers and young people to understand that studying is different from
doing tasks, which is different from reading, which is different from copying. Studying is analyzing an object, making it one's own and
be able to (re) produce it in the future.
TO WANT to study (to have a positive attitude towards studying); TO BE ABLE to study (to have abilities such as)
intellectual capacity, will, study habits, personal and family conditions; KNOW how to study, master
techniques, use strategies that favor learning.

Objectives of the Guided Study


Recognize the need and importance of acquiring study habits and routines.
Identify the essential habits for creating a study routine.
Recognize the essential elements for the act of studying.
Understand the difference between intensity and quality of study.
To take possession of the ability to organize oneself to study.
Understand and apply study techniques in the daily routine.
Consolidate study habits and routines.

High School aims to position the individual as a producer of knowledge and a participant in
world of work. Thus, according to the PCN of High School (1999), the school, in fulfilling its role
primordial, one must think of a curriculum as an instrumentation of democratic citizenship, contemplating
contents and learning strategies that empower humans to carry out activities in
three domains of human action: social life, productive activity, and subjective experience,
incorporating as general and guiding principles the four premises pointed out by UNESCO for the
education in contemporary society:
LEARN TO KNOW
knowledge that allows us to understand the world;
LEARN TO DO
development of skills and the encouragement of the emergence of new abilities;
LEARN TO COEXIST
learn to live together, developing knowledge of each other and the perception of interdependencies;
LEARN TO BE
–prepare the individual to develop autonomous and critical thoughts; exercise freedom of
thought, discernment, feeling, and imagination.
