The Matrix
INT. A ROOM, DAYTIME

(In an old room. Two fancy chairs facing each other and a
table in the middle of the chairs. Sitting on them are
Morpheus and Neo. Morpheus takes out a blue pill, presenting
it to Neo.)

Morpheus: You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake
in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.

(Morpheus slowly takes out a red pill from another pocket and
presents it in his hand.)

Morpheus: You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland
and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

(Long tense silence, Neo hard in thought. Then, neo reaches


out in between the pills, hands drifting to the red pill.
Then suddenly neo grabs the blue pill and instantly gulps it
down without water)

Morpheus: Goodbye, Neo-

(Neo reaches over and grabs the red pill as well and takes it
too, without water and begins choking on the pill.)

Morpheus (slightly surprised): What the...

(Neo then grabs the glass of water on a table and hurriedly


chugs it, gasping for air in relief before instantly having a
blank face)

Neo (dramatically): What's next?

(Dramatic music plays, Morpheus and Neo both look out into
the audience, Neo with a dramatic face and Morpheus with his
signature blank face. After a tense few seconds, Morpheus
gains his composure again, looking at Neo.)

Morpheus: Goodbye, Neo.

(lights fade to black, after a few seconds Neo wakes up, in


bed)
