Project : Modelling Using Primitives

Fill in the blanks:

1. Autodesk Maya, Blender, Tinker CAD applications can be used to create 3D objects.
2. The term given to moving camera forward and backward in the viewport’s area is Zoom.
3. To pan the view, hold down the shift key and drag the Middle Mouse Button to the 3D viewport.
4. Value of location and rotation of an object is zero by default but is one for its scale.
5. 3D stands for 3 dimensional.

Multiple Choice Questions:

1. The term given to rotating the view of the viewport’s area is ______________.
a) Orbit b) Pan c) Zoom
2. To add an object, press _______________on the keyboard.
a) Ctrl + A b) Shift + A c) Alt + A
3. _______Keyboard key is used to change the mode.
a) A b) Z c) N
4. Material does not define the ___________ of an object.
a) Texture b) Color c) Size

Answer the following:

1. What is a complex 3D shape? Name 2 complex 3D shapes.
Ans. A complex 3D shape is one which is created using two or more simple 3D shapes. Example- Water
bottle, Bat.

2. Write a short note on 3-Dimensional Geometry.

Ans. All the shapes that we see around us are 3 dimensional (3D). 3D shapes are also called solid
shapes. Length, width and height are the three dimensions of a 3D shape. Geometry can be divided
into two types: plane and solid geometry. Solid geometry involves 3D shapes like cylinders, cubes,
spheres etc.

3. Explain 3D viewport.
Ans. The main window in which 3D objects are created, edited and animated for a scene is known as 3D
viewport. 3D viewport is used to interact with the 3D scene for a variety of purposes, like
modeling, animating, texture painting, etc.

4. Name the main windows visible in Blender interface.

Ans. • 3DViewport on the top left.
• Outliner on the top right.
• Properties on the bottom right.
• Timeline on the bottom left.

5. What is Material?
Ans. Material defines the substance the object is made up of, its color and texture and how light interacts
with it. They can be created in material properties.
