Mining Earthquake Emergency Drill Plan

The document discusses the risks associated with mining activities during earthquakes, highlighting the potential dangers to personnel and the need for effective emergency drills. It emphasizes the importance of training workers on emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and the use of personal protective equipment. The drill plan outlines the necessary steps for conducting a simulation, including coordination with external emergency services and documentation of the drill's outcomes for future improvements.

Summary

The main consequences that a mine has after a seismic event or

earthquake, it is the blockage of roads due to failure in slopes or consequence
rock fall, as in underground mining this comes from the
walls and ceiling of the tunnel, putting at risk the personnel that is present in the
area, which can negatively impact the mine.

The main consequence would be the risk to the personnel who are inside.
from the mine, the need for repairs on the roads and the losses resulting from
from the detention in production.

The location of the mine is crucial when an earthquake occurs because

it has to do with the geography of the area and the vulnerability of the land, the proximity to
rivers or streams potentially causing landslides or floods.

Introduction

The drill plan must be known by the entire organization, especially by the
workers involved in the operational process of the mine, who must be
instructed on the fundamental aspects and the procedures to be applied in
in case of emergency.

Drills must be conducted annually, in accordance with the changes that

new procedures have been produced during the period
emergency or by the implementation of new processes in the
operation. The responsibility for the review corresponds to the Operational part of
Safety and Health at Work and Environment. Its approval corresponds to
General Mine Manager.

All mine workers must have been trained on the system.

due to internal collapses.
In addition, the personnel working in the mine must have training in the
places where dangerous energies are blocked.

Objective.

Determine to analyze the staff in handling the situation

Decrease and maintain the response time to the actual situation of
emergency
Evaluate the response of the committed individuals: the injured,
firefighters, personnel who are not part of the firefighting team.
Determine the meeting points, medical safety zone, the
possible temporary shelters and triage area

Drill plan.

To carry out the drill in a mine during an earthquake or tremor, one must
must take into account all the people who work in it, who must
to be informed about the drill that will take place, determining the date and the
exact time of the event, define the planning of the activity, such as
it will be executed and how the evacuation of personnel will be carried out.

This information must be delivered to management through the drill plan

from the desk, who will give the guidelines to carry out the drill. The plan of
a desk drill will be conducted by the brigade commander
safety or the person in charge of the workers' safety in the mine.

The brigade command must be equipped with all the tools or

material that should be used in case of an emergency. Likewise, it should
to have qualified and trained personnel in emergency maneuvers; this
staff must be 20% of the workforce in the mine.

The drill.
An official record must be made documenting the drill that is going to be carried out.
the date and time of the drill and the result of the drill.
A attendance record of all the people involved must be kept.

There will also be a healthcare facility where ...

priority of attention, which should be located approximately 100 meters away
from the emergency site and an uncovered area that is easily accessible.

During the activity, there will be external companies that will join the drill.
Red Cross, firefighters, police, civil defense, and the ARL.
