Medical applications
Primary use:
Allows for the realization of lung and bone X-rays
patients who are bedridden and difficult to move
Patients operated on (in the course of intervention in the operating room)
Indeed, it is the device (mobile and rolling) that we move and bring close to the
patient and not the other way around.
Other uses:
Can be used statically in a radiology service in the absence
heavier equipment. However, the limited power of these devices does not allow
not to carry out the same range of examinations.
Fields of application:
Traumatology/Orthopedics
Pulmonology
Operating principle
The areas of the body to be diagnosed are irradiated with X-rays in order to obtain a
transparent image (on radiographic film) of tissues and organs according to their
opacity to X-rays.
Options and versions available on the market
Power
The power of radiology mobiles ranges from 4KW to 30KW. A power
elevated allows to optimize the quality of the examination, particularly for high-risk patients
body mass, and to broaden the bone examinations.
Motorization
Some radiology mobiles are equipped with a motorization system.
powered by batteries, which makes it easier to move them. In case of
In case of a failure of this motorization system, the device can be used statically.
Generator
On certain radiology machines, batteries power the X-ray generator.
X. (These same batteries often also power the engine)
ATTENTION: Batteries are very expensive (about €4000 each), difficult to
acquire, polluting and have an average lifespan of 4 to 5 years. When these
the batteries are worn out, the device is unusable.
Some radiology mobiles operate on mains power:
Traditional mobile phones require a suitable electrical network for their
power. (Properly follow the manufacturer's recommendations)
-Mobile devices operating on a capacitor discharge system
have the advantage of being able to be plugged into a standard 220V 16A outlet.
Adapted structures
Hospital (peripheral or regional).
Main accessories
Reinforced screen cassettes (suitable for the format and type of films)
Lead apron anti-X-rays
Manual or automatic development equipment (manual: tanks, clamps and
drying frames; automatic: developer, dryer)
Negatoscope (see information sheet available on this equipment)
Comments
Attention: prices may vary from simple to triple, depending on the brand of the device and
the quantity of consumables purchased.
In case of battery operation, provide spare batteries or a means
battery supply.
Interview
Regular cleaning of the device with non-corrosive, non-aggressive products.
Regular decontamination of the device with suitable products, especially after
use of the device in the operating room.
Maintenance
Required level of education:
The personnel involved in the repair and monitoring of this type of device must have
follow a training on its operation and maintenance. This training must
to be exempted by the manufacturer, an organization, or a competent person.
Skills in electronics and mechanics are required.
Maintenance :
Level:
Little maintenance is required under normal operating conditions, but a level
high maintenance technique, especially on recent devices.
Coût :
High cost of parts and specialized labor.
Very expensive replacement batteries.
Common breakdowns:
Deficiency of the X-ray tube due to filament breakage or glass damage (often due to
to a shock during its handling).
Breakage of the light center bulb.
SURE of the engine supply on motorized mobiles.
Preventive maintenance:
Regular greasing (approximately every 2 or 3 years) of the high voltage tips (the grease has ...
tendency to dry quickly in a hot environment.
Usage precautions
Required level of use:
The user personnel (radiologist, radiology technician) must have completed a
training on the use of the device provided by the manufacturer, an organization
trained, or a competent person. This training usually takes place during the
commissioning of the device.
The interpretation of images is the exclusive responsibility of the doctor.
responsible.
Precautions:
Frequent exposure to X-rays causes irreversible tissue damage.
The user and the people working in the direct environment of the device are
Therefore, those most exposed. It is therefore essential to plan for Anti-X protections.
adapted (see technical environment).
Note: X-rays are emitted only during the taking of pictures.
Installation constraints
X-ray protection for the operating personnel: lead apron.
Electrical network with essential grounding: supply 220 or 380 V /
(according to the model).
Darkroom for developing radiographic films.
Development system (manual or automatic).
