Activity 1: Rewrite for Conciseness & Clarity
The following email draft is wordy and unclear. Rewrite it in a concise and clear
manner without changing the main message.
Draft Email:
Respected Sir, I am writing this email in order to let you know that I have been going
through some problems because of the bus services in our city and therefore, I am
facing quite a lot of challenges reaching college on time every day. It would be really
helpful if you could kindly provide me with some advice in this matter related to how
I should handle it and if possible grant me permission for arriving late in the class
whenever the buses are not on time.
Activity 2: Check for Completeness & Correctness
You are the Class Representative. Draft a notice to your classmates about an
upcoming Guest Lecture on “Entrepreneurship in India”. Ensure the notice follows the
7 C’s, especially completeness (all details included) and correctness (grammar,
spelling, formatting).

I am writting this mail becaus our college BMCC Pune which is one of the most famus
colleges in Pune city is wanting to organise some kind of placements activity with
your bank which is called Barclays because many students are very interested to get
jobs and career in the banking and finance industry but there has been no
placements done from Barclays for the last many years in our campus so we are
waiting from long time that you can send your HR team for visiting us for the
placement drive but the dates are not decided yet because principal is still thinking
about it and we will decide later depending on when you are free.
Students are very eager and we hope you will consider to come. If you are comming
please let us know so that we can do some arrangements for classrooms and maybe
snacks if possible, but still its not confirmed how we will manage. Kindly do the
needful as early as you can possible and reply fastly.
