II. MEANING OF VALUES

Values are personal beliefs or principles that guide thinking, behavior, and decisions.

They are influenced by culture, family, environment, and experience. In the Philippines,

values often relate to family, friendship, community, work, and social status.

Values shape goals and actions, whether consciously or unconsciously.

III. THE CALL OF MORAL VALUE

Moral values are experienced as a “call” that invites a person to respond freely.

We feel a sense of responsibility when encountering truth, justice, or love.

Rejecting moral values harms the person, not the value. Responding to values makes

us more human and morally good.

IV. BASIC VALUES

1. SINCERITY

- Thinking, speaking, and acting according to truth.

- Standing firm for what is right.

- Knowing strengths and limitations.

2. SIMPLICITY

- Being genuine, transparent, and free from pretension.
