MEDICAL CODING BEGINNER ROADMAP

1. Understand Basics (1–2 Days)

- ICD-10-CM: Diagnosis codes

- CPT: Procedure codes

- HCPCS: Supplies/injections

2. Choose Path

- AAPC CPC (recommended)

- AHIMA CCA → CCS

3. ICD-10-CM Study (Week 1–3)

4. CPT Study (Week 4–8)

5. HCPCS (Week 8–9)

- J-codes, A-codes, G-codes.

6. Practice Medical Records (Week 10–12)

- OPD notes, IPD summaries, operative notes, radiology, pathology.

- Goal: Practice 50–100 cases.

7. CPC Exam Preparation (Week 12–14)

- Score target: 65–75% in mocks.
