Section A (Short Answer – 2 marks each) [8 Marks]
1. Simplify: 324 ÷ 18 + 45 × 2
2. Draw a triangle with sides 6 cm, 8 cm, and 10 cm. Write its type and calculate its area.
3. A survey was conducted in a class of 40 students. The number of students who like different
fruits is: Mango – 10, Apple – 15, Orange – 8, Banana – 7. Represent the data using a bar graph
(neat drawing required).
4. If 3x + 7 = 25, find the value of x.
Section B (Application-based – 3 marks each) [9 Marks]
5. A farmer has a triangular field with base 50 m and height 32 m. He wants to grow grass in it. Find
the area of the field. If the cost of grass is ■4 per sq. metre, find the total cost.
6. A shopkeeper sold 248 pens in one week and 315 pens the next week. He bought them at ■12
each and sold at ■15 each. Find his total profit.
7. Organize the marks of 10 students in a mathematics test out of 20: 12, 15, 8, 10, 20, 17, 12, 18,
15, 10. Make a frequency table.
Section C (Long Answer – 4 marks each) [12 Marks]
8. The perimeter of a rectangle is 84 cm. Its length is 25 cm. Find its breadth and area.
9. A basket contains 128 mangoes. They are packed equally into 16 boxes. (a) How many
mangoes are there in each box? (b) If 3 mangoes from each box get spoiled, how many are left in
total?
10. A student records the following data of books read by his classmates in a month: 0–2 books: 5
students, 3–5 books: 8 students, 6–8 books: 10 students, 9–11 books: 7 students. Draw a
histogram for the data.
