SECURE METER

CONFIGRATION THROUGH
MODBUS – TCP/IP
LAYOUT:
STEP – 1: SELECTION OF THE CONVERTER

Open eSearch utillity for the connection & IP Address setting

click search server to idetify the TCP/IP converter IP details


Incase of IP address change it can be changed here by double clicking
the device and save by OK

STEP – 2: SETTING THE PORT VALUES IN TCP/IP CONVERTER

Select WEB option to view & set the port values


select Port 1 to change or edit the values of Baud rate, data size, protocol &
other details as shown in below figure.

Edit the datas as per the requirement and click submit to finish the setting of
TCP/IP converter.
STEP – 3: SETUP OF MODBUS POLL

Open Modbus Poll from the desktop screen.

For the connection setup goto connections option and click Connect option.
Select the connection type & verify the IP address and press OK

SETP – 4: VEIWING THE METER VALUES

Goto Setup option and click Read/write definition


From the read/write tab select the parameters,
1. Slave ID
2. Fuction type – 03 Read holding register (4X) this selection is
as per the Manufacturer of the meter & address
3. Enter the Address to view the parameter from the meter
(as per the SECURE mapping file).
4. Display option as FLOAT
Click Apply & OK to view the parameter as displayed below
STEP – 5: TO CHANGE THE SLAVE ID

Select the address as per the mapping file in Read/Write Definitionand change the
display option to UNSIGNED & click PLC addresses option then APPLY & OK

Goto 16: Write register from Function option


Double click the address as shown and enter the Slave ID as per the requiremen and
press OK and SEND option.

Tab Response OK confirms the change of slave ID. Now with the new ID the
parameters can be checked with STEP – 4 procedure.
