SYNOPSIS
SMART HYBRID OPERATED MULTI-UTILITY AGRO VEHICLE
1. INTRODUCTION
Agriculture remains the backbone of the Indian economy, especially in rural areas where farmers
depend mainly on traditional tools and manual labour. Operations like soil digging, seed sowing,
levelling, and pesticide spraying are time-consuming and require significant manpower.
Increasing labour costs, scarcity of skilled workers, and rising fuel expenses create additional
challenges for farmers. To address these issues, the integration of automation and renewable
energy in agriculture has become essential.
This project proposes the design and fabrication of a Smart Hybrid Operated Multi-Utility
Agro Vehicle, powered by a battery-solar hybrid system. The machine is designed to perform
multiple agricultural functions using a single compact unit. It combines digging, sowing,
levelling, and spraying operations, thereby eliminating the need for separate equipment. The
machine aims to reduce manual labour, improve efficiency, and encourage eco-friendly farming
practices through the use of solar power.
2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Traditional farming methods involve multiple individual machines or manual tools for seed
sowing, spraying, and soil preparation. This results in higher cost, more effort, longer working
hours, and dependency on labour. Fuel-operated equipment increases pollution and maintenance
requirements. Therefore, there is a strong need for a low-cost, multi-task agricultural machine
that is easy to use, reliable, and powered by renewable energy.
3. OBJECTIVES
To design and develop a solar + battery hybrid vehicle that can perform essential
farming operations.
To integrate four main operations into a single machine:
1. Soil digging
2. Seed sowing
3. Soil levelling
4. Pesticide/Fertilizer spraying
To reduce human effort, operational time, and labour dependency.
To promote the use of renewable energy in agricultural applications.
To develop a user-friendly system controlled using simple switches/remote.
To achieve maximum efficiency and reliability with minimal running cost.
4. SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
The project focuses on developing a multi-utility agricultural vehicle suitable for small and
medium farms. The scope includes:
A 48V battery-powered BLDC motor, supported by a 40W solar panel for charging.
A seed sowing unit with controlled seed flow.
A 12V spraying pump and nozzle arrangement for chemicals or water.
A soil digging blade and levelling plate mounted on the front/back of the vehicle.
A mild-steel fabricated frame capable of withstanding field loads.
A compact, economical, and easy-to-maintain design.
This system is developed to help farmers handle repetitive field tasks more efficiently, safely,
and with lower operating cost.

Levelling soil after sowing.
Suitable for horticulture, plantations, nurseries, and small agricultural fields.
8. CONCLUSION
The Smart Hybrid Operated Multi-Utility Agro Vehicle provides a sustainable and practical
solution to modern agricultural challenges. By combining solar and battery energy with essential
farming operations in a single machine, it significantly reduces time, effort, and cost for farmers.
The project demonstrates an effective approach to enhancing productivity through automation
and renewable energy. With further improvements, this design can be adapted for larger fields
and wider agricultural applications
