Introduction
Designing a formal project proposal to address a business issue or opportunity, including
organising information to support the proposal and communicating it to stakeholders,
develops essential employability skills to define and investigate business management
problems of your choice directly relevant to your degree and potentially, your future career.
The purpose of the Consultancy Project Proposal module is to produce a proposal for your
final project. You will outline the investigation area, the research questions, the types of
information collected, and how it will be used. You will be able to select an area of business
management that is of interest to you that you wish to investigate further using academic
concepts and you will also give consideration to the planning related to the business project.
Within this module, you will develop the skills required to undertake effective research and
produce a research report. This will provide a platform for further development of self-
management, project management, and other important management skills.

Mode of Assessment
Formative Assessment
A 1000-word assignment introducing the selected organisation facing a current
business/management issue and outlining the research methodology designed to investigate
the business issue.
Summative Assessment – 100% of Module Grade
Element 1 – 80% of Module Grade
A 1500-word individual project proposal that includes an in-depth analysis of the selected
business/management issue and a comprehensive research methodology for investigating
the issue. This proposal should demonstrate clear research aims, objectives, and ethical
considerations.
Element 2 – 20% of Module Grade
A Consultancy Project Proposal Digital Poster.
This module is assessed on this task; in which you must achieve a percentage grade of 50%
to pass the module.
Each assessment is marked on a graded percentage basis, and the weighted module grade
counts 16.66% for a 30-credit module towards the final mark for degree classification of the
MSc.
