Recruitment Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is two-fold:
● To give you a better sense of the role of the Program Delivery Intern role.
● To give us a sense of whether you would be a good fit for the role
The assignment is designed to be intentionally diverse and fast-paced,
much like the actual role.
As you work through this assignment, note that:
● The structure of the assignment is intentionally broad to give you the freedom to think about the
assignment on your own terms. Make sure to include any assumptions you are making as you
complete this assignment.
● We understand you don’t have enough context on our operations and our business. Working with
uncertainty and partial information is a part of this assignment. Be sure to highlight the
assumptions you’re making and leave comments so we can collaborate with you.
● We understand that in a perfect world, you’d have more time to research and complete this task.
Understanding constraints, prioritising, and demonstrating a “done, not perfect” mindset are part
of what we look out for. So, in places where you don’t have enough time to complete the task to
your standards, please share your thought process and your next steps if you have more time.
● What you share here is only for assignment purposes. We do not intend to use your submission
beyond this recruitment process.
● Aside from the submission deadline, the parameters of this assignment are purposefully broad
and open to your interpretation and understanding.
We’d like you to return your assignment submission in one PDF document on the date stated in the
email. We do not take the evaluation for this role lightly. We appreciate your time, effort and
understanding.
We look forward to receiving your assignment!
All the best!

Task 1: Strategic Program Communications
Our ALX Programs engage thousands of learners from across Africa each cycle. As As a Program Delivery
Intern, you’re required to design and support the delivery of all program communications to ensure
learners are informed and have access to the support they need.
Your task is to design a Week 1- 3 Communication strategy for emails and community posts, that
informs and motivates learners to complete their learning deliverables, with measurable engagement
outcomes.
Your plan should include:
❖ Communication objectives : what outcomes you want to drive each week?
❖ Timing and cadence: when and how often will youl communicate?
❖ Key message themes: what is the content focus for each email or post?
❖ Engagement tactics: how will you ensure learners open and read the messages and complete
the desired actions?
❖ Metrics for success: how will you measure the success of your communication strategy? Of your
metrics, identify the single most important metric for Week 1 and justify your choice.
❖ Feedback loops: how will you use learner and stakeholder feedback to refine your
communication strategy?.
Bonus:
❖ Describe the single biggest risk of your communication plan. How would you proactively mitigate this
specific risk?
❖ Suggest how you would align this communication plan with other functions to improve the learner
journey.

Task 2: Community Event Design & Execution
As a Program Delivery Intern, you’ll play a key role in shaping the learner experience beyond the learning
platform, especially within our online community spaces.
You have been tasked with designing and delivering a virtual community event focused on speed
networking to strengthen peer connections and boost retention. You are expected to design a session
that invites meaningful interaction, reflection, and community spirit.
Develop a concise event flow and management outline that includes:
❖ Event goals and outcomes: what does success looks like, both qualitative and quantitative?
❖ Session flow: timing, activities, and facilitation approach.
❖ Engagement mechanics: This event is for a large, distributed group, where it's easy to feel anonymous.
What is your single most creative tactic to make networking feel personal and meaningful, not just
a random breakout room?
❖ Tools and platforms you’d use for execution (e.g., Zoom, breakout rooms, Slido, Mentimeter, etc.).
Justify why you chose your specific toolstack for this group.
❖ Measurement and reporting: how would you measure the qualitative success beyond just
attendance?
❖ Cross-team collaboration: how you’d coordinate with communications, design, and data teams to
deliver a high-quality experience. What is the most critical piece of information you would need from
another team before this event?
Bonus:
❖ Using Canva, create a vibrant and visually engaging banner or graphic to promote the event in the
learner space. Pair it with a short caption or announcement post that reflects the tone of the
community warm, empowering, and full of energy.
❖ Propose a post-event follow-up plan that sustains momentum and encourages continuous
community participation.

Task 3: Program Analysis and Reporting
As a Program Delivery intern, you are responsible for ensuring a smooth learning experience, proactive
learner support, and maximum learner retention. Your team has just wrapped up another cohort and is
diving into the end-of-program analysis and reporting. You have been assigned this Data set to analyze.
Your task is to analyze this dataset and prepare a brief insights report for your team. Your report, which
can be delivered as a 2-3 page Google Doc or a 3-5 slide Google Slides presentation, must include:
❖ Key Findings: A summary of the 2-3 most significant trends or patterns you identified in the data
(e.g., related to learner performance, engagement, or drop-off).
❖ Data Visualizations: Include 1-2 key charts or graphs (e.g., created in Google Sheets) that visually
support your key findings.
❖ Actionable Insights: For each finding, explain what it means. What insights can the team draw
about the learner experience or program effectiveness?
❖ Strategic Recommendations: Propose 2-3 specific, actionable recommendations for the next
cohort that are directly based on your insights and aim to improve retention or satisfaction.
❖ Overall Program Success: A brief conclusion on how you would evaluate the overall success of
this cohort based on the data, referencing the key metrics you focused on.
Bonus: Identify one key question about the learner experience that this dataset cannot answer. How
would you propose collecting data to answer that question in the next cohort (e.g., a specific survey
question, a new community engagement metric)?
