PTA is mobile equipment,
self-propelled** or not,
equipped with a station of
work (basket or
platform) and supported in
your base by metal rod
(spear) or scissors, capable of
rise to reach point
a high workplace.
Self-propelled: That has its
own means of propulsion.
Minimum Security Requirements
The PTA must meet the technical specifications of
manufacturer regarding the application, operation, maintenance and
periodic inspections.
The equipment must be equipped with:
a) security devices that ensure its perfect
leveling at the work point, as per
manufacturer specification
b) internal support handle
c) guardrail that meets the manufacturer's specifications
or, in the absence of these, to the provisions of item 18.13.5 of NR18
d) control panel with emergency stop button
e) emergency device that allows lowering the
worker and the platform down to the ground in case of a failure
electrical, hydraulic or mechanical
f) automatic sound signaling system activated
during the ascent and descent.
The use of ropes, cables is prohibited.
chains or any other material
flexible substitution to the guardrail.
The PTA must have protection against electric shocks, through:
double insulated power cables
b) shielded plugs and sockets
c) electrical grounding
Residual Differential Device (RDD)
