During the technical inspection carried out by the service technician in which an evaluation was conducted of a

problem in the transmission and subsequently the disassembly was carried out finding
some fractured gears were processed to assemble this component according to
service manual.
Subsequently, the assembly of this component (transmission) is carried out in the
machine, which is completely disassembled, all seals are replaced and
retainers of this assembly and proceed to connect the transmission with the engine and install all the
accessories that had to be removed, such as: drive shaft, lines, and fuel tank,
address column, electrical system, etc.

AUTOMOTIVE SCANNER

The automotive scanner is an important tool for diagnosing failures.

Funciones:

Perform a complete self-diagnosis of the car.

Identification reader.

The scanner will show us the total identification of the control unit; some
examples, the manufacturer, the number of parts that the car has, the version or
software brand, etc.

The main function is to read the error codes (check engine) It shows the

Measure the values.

An important function for having knowledge of the car's state is a

DTC
Once the fault code or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is created, there is an anatomy.
for this code.

OBD II fault codes are alphanumeric, and each of the digits presents a
specific route of the diagnosis.

The first thing you have is a letter, this can have several possibilities depending on the place.
of the vehicle in which the code is developed.

P = POWERTRAIN Includes the codes related to the engine and the automatic transmission
B =BODY Understands the systems that make up the body and comfort parts, also
some systems related to the immobilizer

C =CHASIS Includes systems related to the chassis such as some

ABS systems – AIRBAG and differential systems not related to management of the
automatic transmission.

U = NETWORK Understands the problems related to data transmission of a

módulo a otro, las redes de comunicación se pueden averiar y dejar sistemas completos por
outside the system. In that case, any of the remaining modules can generate a code
related to that system.

If it is 0, it will be a completely universal code called SAE.

If it is 1, 2, or 3 it will be a manufacturer code although it is still OBD II or CAN.

The third digit indicates in the case of the engine, the subsystem on which the fault is mounted.
Just as we will have a precise location of the problem by analyzing this digit.

For example:

If there is a problem in the circuit of an injector as if a connector was disconnected, then...

will have to:

Since it is a problem related to the engine, the first letter is P, then it has to be a
universal code called SAE since the same problem can occur anywhere
automobile. Then it follows 0, as it is a problem in the fuel system it is
determined with the third digit 2, and finally assuming that it is in cylinder number 4
Problem, we will have the following code:

3. Mention the specifications of the OBD II INTERFACE.

It is for all brands and all types of vehicles with the OBD II port, it reads
error codes in cars both generic and specific, with a meaning
based on more than 40,000 definitions in its database, erase fault codes in the
car dashboard.

4. What are the readings available in the OBD II INTERFACE?

The sensor readings can be seen in voltage values, RPM,

temperature, pressure, depending on each sensor.

5. Mention 5 sensors that can be read with compatibility in the

Smartphone?

TPS Position
Actual fuel efficiency
Air inlet temperature
Coolant temperature
Accelerator pedal position

6. What is the function of removing codes in a scanner responsible for?

Errors are stored when there is a failure, and this function is responsible.
to remove all error codes found and other data from the
diagnostic information.

7. What are the fault codes like?

OBD II fault codes are alphanumeric in nature, and each of the digits presents
a specific route of the diagnosis.

8. What does the letter 'P' mean in a DTC?

P = POWERTRAIN Includes the codes related to the engine and transmission

automatic

9. What does the second digit in a DTC mean?

If it is 0, it will be a completely universal code called SAE.

If it is 1, 2, or 3 it will be a manufacturer code although it remains OBD II or CAN.

What does the third digit in a DTC mean?

The third digit indicates in the case of the engine, the subsystem on which it is mounted.
The fault is that this is how we will have a precise location of the problem by analyzing this digit.

8 RECOMMENDATIONS

Verify the good condition and proper functioning of the Scanner's cables.
Observe safety rules before starting the engine.
Use the automotive scanner with caution and do not hit it.
Disconnect and properly connect the sensor sockets in diagnostics.
Verify that there are no pending DTCs.
Disconnect the battery to clear DTCs from the history.
