PROGRAM CRITERIA

1. DESCRIPCIÓN
This subject is introductory to the studies of Sociology as a science, to the
historical formation of the social sciences, to the analysis of current social phenomena and
the Dominican social reality. By the end of the course, the student will be able to understand from a
scientific perspective on the main problems of society.

2. OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of this subject are to examine the subject matter of the different
social sciences and raise student awareness of social reality and the different explanations of
a global social and cultural environment.

3. METHODOLOGY

The program aims to contribute to the training of individuals capable of having a critical vision of the
reality and a participatory attitude in the learning process, from a dimension
democratic, scientific and valued.
