Web Based Task… 2

Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

Lucban Academy is an academic institution that contains school departments,

clubs, and organizations that manage student needs, faculty works, and the school’s

missions altogether. School departments are faculty-led with roles in managing academic

programs, administration, and school maintenance. School clubs are subject-related and

student-led groups that hold themed related events and contests, including activities for

training and learning specific skills. And school organizations are led by formal student

leaders that cover school-wide missions and programs in student welfare, school

community engagement, and leadership training. All mentioned groups need an organized

and well-tracked guide to effectively and efficiently complete needed works, programs,

and events.

The monitoring of activities, programs, and events conducted by various clubs,

organizations, and departments is currently performed manually. This manual process

makes it difficult for the Principal to efficiently oversee whether all activities are aligned

with the school’s goals, mission, and vision. Without a systematic and centralized

monitoring approach, the administration challenges to ensure that every department’s

initiatives contribute meaningfully to the institution’s overall objectives. This lack of

structured oversight can lead to inefficiencies in implementing the school’s strategic

direction (Mukthashree et al., 2022).

Web Based Task… 3

The current monitoring and coordination system within Lucban Academy reveals

several gaps that affect its overall efficiency. At Lucban Academy, departments, clubs,

and organizations still rely heavily on manual tracking and paper-based documentation,

which often leads to issues such as disorganized records, missed deadlines, and delayed

communication among members. This manual system creates difficulties in monitoring

progress and ensuring accountability, especially when multiple activities and programs

are handled simultaneously. Since the tracking of activities, programs, and events is done

manually, there is a lack of uniform documentation and proper record management.

Important details such as progress updates, and activity outcomes are often scattered or

incomplete, making it difficult to assess performance and ensure accountability.

Furthermore, GoSchooler (2024) notes that digitized school systems allow accurate data

collection and report generation, enabling administrators to make better decisions.

Given this situation, Lucban Academy faces similar challenges due to the lack of

a unified digital platform for managing its various institutional activities. Without an

integrated platform, communication between teachers and student leaders becomes

inefficient, resulting in delays, confusion, and unreliable reports. This often results in

delays, incomplete reports, and overlapping schedules. In some cases, activities are not

properly documented or monitored, making it hard to determine whether they meet the

school’s goals and standards. These gaps show how unorganized tracking and

communication can affect the smooth flow of work and coordination within the school.
Web Based Task… 4

Background of the Study

In schools, departments, clubs, and organizations often have a hard time

managing and keeping track of their tasks. Most of them still use paper lists, group chats,

or verbal reminders, which can easily lead to forgotten or unfinished tasks. Because of

this, miscommunication and delays usually happen. With today’s technology, using a

web-based system can make things more organized and easier to manage. That’s why this

study aims to develop a web-based task management and monitoring system for Lucban

Academy’s departments, clubs, and organizations to help them assign, track, and finish

their tasks on time while improving communication and teamwork.

At Lucban Academy, departments, clubs, and organizations still struggle to

properly monitor their reports and financial records. Many of them continue to use

manual methods such as writing reports on paper or sending them through group chats,

which often leads to confusion, missing files, and difficulty in tracking updates. This

makes it hard for officers and advisers to check progress and manage finances accurately.

Because of this situation, there is a need for a system that can help organize reports, track

financial records, and make monitoring tasks easier and more efficient for everyone

involved.

Many departments, clubs, and organizations still have trouble keeping track of

reports and finances using manual methods like paper records, chats, or spreadsheets,

which often lead to mistakes and missing information. According to Teach ‘n Go (2023),

manual accounting systems are prone to errors and make it difficult to create clear and

accurate financial reports. Likewise, Vidyalaya School Software (2023) explains that

school management and task monitoring systems help improve organization by providing
Web Based Task… 5

real-time dashboards, automatic alerts, and secure centralized data for easier tracking of

tasks, reports, and finances. With these points, creating a web-based task management

and monitoring system for Lucban Academy can help solve these issues by making

reports and financial monitoring more efficient, organized, and accessible to everyone

involved.

The researchers have observed that many club advisers and officers of the

departments, clubs, and organizations at Lucban Academy Senior High School encounter

difficulties in monitoring and managing their tasks efficiently. Most of these groups still

rely on manual methods such as paper records, chat messages, or verbal communication

to track their activities and responsibilities. This often results in confusion, forgotten

tasks, and delays in accomplishing objectives. As organizations grow and their activities

become more complex, it becomes harder for leaders and members to keep track of their

duties and progress. One of the researchers has been an active member of an organization

for almost four years and has personally experienced the challenges of managing tasks

and monitoring updates without a proper system. This experience inspired the researchers

to develop a web-based task management and monitoring system that will help make

organizing tasks easier, improve communication among members, and ensure that every

responsibility is tracked and completed efficiently.

With the aforementioned challenges, the researchers therefore propose the

development of a web-based task management and monitoring system designed to

improve coordination and productivity among the departments, clubs, and organizations

of Lucban Academy. This system will allow users to assign tasks, set deadlines, and track

progress in real time, making it easier to manage multiple activities simultaneously. By

Web Based Task… 6

providing a centralized platform for communication and updates, it aims to reduce delays

and promote efficient collaboration within the institution. Ultimately, the system seeks to

enhance overall organization and ensure that projects and events run smoothly, benefiting

all members involved.

By creating a simple website that helps school organizations assign and track

tasks more efficiently, the system will make task management easier and more organized.

This system will allow teachers and officers to make task lists, set deadlines, and monitor

progress in one place instead of using paper or chat groups. It will also include a shared

calendar, a file section for reports, and reminders for upcoming activities. The system will

be easy to use, work on both phones and computers, and keep information safe. By using

this platform, Lucban Academy’s departments and clubs can stay more organized, avoid

missed tasks, and improve communication between members.

Objectives of the Study

The general objective is to develop a web-based task monitoring and management

system for Lucban Academy departments, clubs, and organizations. Specifically, it seeks

to achieve the following:

1. To determine the departments, clubs, and organizations in Lucban Academy

2. To determine the common features of online tasks monitoring and management

systems.

3. To determine the development tools in creating a Web-Based Task Management

and Monitoring System for Lucban Academy Departments, Clubs, and

Organizations
Web Based Task… 7

4. To integrate the departments, clubs, and organizations in Lucban Academy Senior

High School.

5. To conduct a pilot test of the web-based task management and monitoring system.

6. To evaluate the level of acceptability of the system based on ISO/IEC 25010 in

terms of:

6.1. Functionality

6.2. Accuracy

6.3. Accessibility

Significance of the Study

This study will be beneficial to all individuals involved by developing a web-

based task management and monitoring system for departments, clubs, and organizations,

providing an efficient way to coordinate activities, track progress, and improve

communication. This system will enhance overall productivity, simplifying task

oversight, and support better collaboration across various groups within the academy.

Furthermore, the study’s findings will benefit the following.

This study will greatly help the Principal by providing a more systematic and

efficient way to monitor the progress and performance of various departments, clubs, and

organizations through the web-based task management and monitoring system. This will

make it easier to ensure that all school activities are well-coordinated and properly

managed.

The Club Advisers will benefit from this study as it allows them to assign, track,

and manage tasks easily. This helps them make sure that all projects and activities are
Web Based Task… 8

completed on time, in an organized manner, and with better communication among

members.

Club Officers will find this system helpful in managing their responsibilities

more effectively. It will help them communicate better with their members, monitor their

progress, and stay organized, which promotes teamwork, accountability, and productivity

within their organizations.

The findings of this study will help the Researchers further understand web-

based task management and monitoring, which may help them with their future

aspirations.

Because of this research, Future Researchers who wish to explore topics related

to web-based task management and monitoring may find valuable insights that can aid in

their research. It can serve as a useful reference, providing relevant information and ideas

that can guide their studies.

Scope and Delimitations

This research focuses on the development of a web-based task monitoring and

management system specifically designed for Lucban Academy Senior High School

departments, clubs, and organizations. The system aims to streamline the process of

tracking and managing tasks within various school organizations to promote transparency

and accountability. It seeks to provide a convenient way for members and officers to

monitor ongoing and completed activities, assign responsibilities, and ensure the timely

accomplishment of tasks. The study also covers the integration of the departments, clubs,

and organizations into a connected system that allows collaboration and coordination in
Web Based Task… 9

one accessible platform. The development of the system will utilize HTML, PHP, CSS,

JavaScript, and Sublime Text as the main tools for creating the web-based platform.

The study is limited to the Senior High School Department of Lucban Academy

and does not include the Junior High School or other levels. The developed system will

focus only on task management and monitoring functions, excluding other organizational

management aspects such as financial tracking, attendance management, and

communication tools. Furthermore, the system’s testing and evaluation will involve a

pilot test with selected representatives from various departments, clubs, and organizations

to assess its usability and performance. The evaluation will be based on the ISO/IEC

25010 software quality standards, particularly in terms of functionality, accuracy and

accessibility. Additionally, the study will not cover mobile application development; the

system will only be accessible through a web-based platform intended for use within the

school’s network and by authorized users.

Chapter II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

This chapter presents reviews of the literature and studies related to the present

study. The reviewed literature and studies served as the basis for the conceptualization of

this research.

Task Management and Monitoring

As stated by Techopedia (2021), task management is an activity where each team

member or team leader tracks a task or group tasks throughout its life cycle and decides

according to the progress of the work task. By using a task management software tool, we

can track the team members’ tasks. It can help the team organize well, and the task will

be managed by using the features in the software. For example, task creation, time

schedule, tracking, communication between group members, notification, and reporting

on team projects and the required tasks.

According to Prohance (n.d.), task monitoring is the systematic observation,

tracking, and analysis of tasks within a project or process to ensure they are progressing

as planned. It involves continuously checking the status of each task, identifying any

delays or issues early, and making adjustments too keep the project on track. Effective

task monitoring provides real-time insights that help the heads allocate resources

efficiently, avoid bottlenecks, and maintain high-quality standards. It also promotes

Web Based Task… 12

transparency and accountability by keeping all team members informed of progress and

deadlines, ultimately contributing to smoother workflows and better project outcomes.

Moreover, monitoring of tasks within schools is also crucial as it allows for real-

time tracking of progress, early identification of challenges, and timely interventions to

ensure that students remain on course with their academic obligations. By continuously

evaluating task completion status and resource allocation, educators can support students

more effectively and facilitate smoother workflows. Additionally, task monitoring

promotes transparency and communication between teachers, students, and parents by

providing clear progress reports and deadlines. This enhances collaboration and allows

timely feedback to be given, which ultimately benefits academic performance and

organizational efficiency. Task monitoring is often supported by specialized software

tools that allow centralized tracking and communication among team members

(Vashishtha et al., 2024).

Singh (2024) claimed that effective task management systems (TMS) significantly

help in organizing, prioritizing, and tracking tasks, which leads to improved

accountability, transparency, and reduced stress from managing multiple responsibilities.

TMS enables users to focus on critical activities by setting clear priorities and organizing

tasks efficiently. This reduces time spent on less important tasks and facilitates better

communication and coordination among team members, ultimately enhancing

productivity and teamwork.

Furthermore, a good task management system helps create a clear and organized

way of working. It lets people and teams see how tasks are progressing and find problems

early. This helps avoid mistakes and delays, and encourages everyone to take
Web Based Task… 13

responsibility for their work. These systems usually include helpful features like

reminders, deadlines, and tools for easy communication, making it simpler to share

information. Because of this, teams work more smoothly and get more done in less time.

Synthesis:

The studies show organizing tasks and regularly tracking progress can improve

efficiency and prevent problems such as delays or confusion. They emphasized the role

of clear communication and transparency among team members, or between teachers and

students, which is essential for successful collaboration. Additionally, the literature

highlighted how task management systems reduce stress and help prioritize important

activities, supporting better focus and teamwork. These insights encouraged the pursuit of

a study focused on developing effective and practical tools to help teams and students

manage their tasks more smoothly and complete work on time.

Common Clubs and Organizations in School

As noted by Torubeli, [Link]. (2024), Educational clubs and organizations play a

crucial role in promoting both the academic success and personal development of

students. Extracurricular groups such as press, debate, science, and mathematics clubs

expand students' experiences outside the standard curriculum, supporting the cultivation

of social, emotional, psychological, and leadership abilities. Students who engage in

these clubs tend to exhibit stronger academic outcomes than those who do not participate.

Moreover, such involvement cultivates community involvement, individual

advancement, and leadership qualities through positions like club president or treasurer,

which sharpen decision-making abilities and self-reliance. The interpersonal dynamics in

Web Based Task… 14

these clubs also enable students to develop a stronger sense of self, inclusion, and

solidarity, while promoting compassion and civic duty via initiatives like community

service efforts. Overall, these elements highlight the vital function of school clubs in

nurturing comprehensive growth for secondary school learners.

Academic clubs are the most common student organizations you'll find on

campus. As the name suggests, they help students further explore an academic area,

usually aligned with the majors the school offers. For instance, there will often be clubs

for engineering, math, history, or English majors that allow them to connect with their

peers in the same field. You might also find preprofessional clubs at your school. These

are similar to academic clubs but they are often individual chapters of national

organizations in fields like law or medicine. (White, n.d.)

Clubs and organizations form an integral aspect of students' school experiences.

Engaging in various groups, regardless of location worldwide, enables individuals to

cultivate essential skills that nurture their leadership qualities. Student-led organizations

provide a valuable avenue for learners to discover and experiment with their leadership

potential. This research examines the impact of participation in clubs and organizations

on students' leadership growth.

Furthermore, Sumague (2023) suggests, programs aimed at developing leadership

should go beyond mere skill-building to emphasize the diverse elements that allow

students to actively demonstrate the traits of successful leaders. The findings from this

study reveal that students' involvement in clubs and organizations positively affects their

leadership development. In addition to fostering leadership, such participation enhances

students' communication abilities and interpersonal skills.

Web Based Task… 15

Synthesis:

School clubs and organizations are super important for helping students grow,

both in school and in their personal lives. I mean, when you join these groups, you pick

up practical skills like being responsible, working as a team, and stepping up as a leader.

Plus, it really boosts your communication and decision-making skills as you handle all

sorts of tasks and events. Having a good system to keep track of club activities can make

everything a lot easier for everyone. It helps members stay on top of things, remember

what needs to be done, and make sure everyone knows their roles. That way, the student

leaders can focus more on improving their leadership abilities and running their clubs

smoothly, which ultimately leads to better learning experiences and personal growth for

the whole group.

Common Features of a Web-Based System

The interpersonal dynamics in

these clubs also enable students to develop a stronger sense of self, inclusion, and
Web Based Task… 16

solidarity, while promoting compassion and civic duty via initiatives like community

service efforts.

Real-time monitoring and analysis

Continuous, real-time operational data gathering and analysis is referred to

as "real-time monitoring and analysis" in web-based monitoring systems. This

implies that the system records data as events or actions take place, allowing

stakeholders to recognize problems right away and take appropriate action.

According to Jankowski (2025), Machines in a manufacturing plant, for instance,

electronically and instantly report operational data like cycle times, temperatures,

and output. Dashboards can then be monitored by managers and technicians to

identify equipment issues or inefficiencies before they result in major downtime

or delays in production. This proactive strategy lowers losses from unscheduled

interruptions and promotes operational efficiency.

Web Based Task… 17

Remote accessibility

Authorized users can access the system interface or monitoring dashboard

remotely from any computer, tablet, or smartphone that has a normal web

browser. Web-based monitoring solutions eliminate the need for particular

software or hardware installations on client devices by hosting the dashboard and

data on web servers via internet technologies, hence enabling this accessibility.

This feature improves responsiveness and ease for users who must operate or

monitor systems while on the go or working from several locations (Ramanathan,

2023).

Alert and Notification

Alert and notification systems are designed to inform users of important

events in real-time using web technologies. These systems can send notifications

through web browsers, emails, SMS, or mobile push notifications. The main

objective is to enhance communication, reduce response time, and improve

decision-making in various domains such as healthcare, education, disaster

management, and enterprise operations (Amiryunanto & Sondari, 2023). In

addition, according to Maass et al. (2020), effective notification systems rely on

trust, clear communication, and user-friendly design

Reporting Capabilities
Web Based Task… 18

Reporting capabilities in web-based monitoring systems enable the

automatic generation of both summary and detailed reports derived from collected

data, which support planning, analysis, and decision-making processes. As stated

by Sanlien Technology (2025), users can generate reports on project status,

financial summaries, or operational interventions, which can be accessed through

a web browser on various devices. This automation relieves users from manual

data compilation and helps maintain consistent, accurate documentation for

accountability and auditing purposes.

Synthesis:

The following literatures support the need for a structured digital platform that

can streamline organizational tasks and help student leaders fulfill their roles efficiently.

In addition, the features of web-based systems, such as real-time monitoring, remote

accessibility, alert notifications, and reporting capabilities, directly align with the

system’s objectives. Real-time monitoring will allow advisers and student leaders to track

ongoing tasks and address issues immediately, while remote accessibility ensures that

users can manage activities anytime and anywhere, improving productivity and

responsiveness. Meanwhile, alert and notification functions will enhance communication

and minimize delays, and built-in reporting will reduce manual documentation and

support data-driven decisions.

Development Tools for Web-based System

Web Based Task… 19

Development tools include programming languages, libraries, frameworks, testing

tools, and Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) that greatly help developers

build and update web applications, client-side and server-side. According to Das (2024),

these tools provide developers to create user interfaces, manage server-side and data

storage, and ensure quality results. These tools include front-end or presentation, back-

end or logic, and database.

In building web applications, there are different types of development that must

be taken care of for a functional and secure outcome. Client-Side Development involves

creating User Interface (UI) parts of the web application. Built with HTML, CSS, and

JavaScript, client-side focuses on client experience and visual design. On the other hand,

the Server-Side Development works in designing and making server logic, management

of database, user authentication, and business logic. Python, and Java (Spring) are some

programs that handle server-side development. Additionally, Database Management

needs databases to process data storage and management. The field involves accessibility

for developers to retrieve and manipulate data to ensure data security. Moreover,

Frameworks and Libraries help developers streamline the development process and

provide efficiency in reading web applications. They share pre-built components,

structures, and patterns for routing, authentication, and handling of data. And lastly,

Front-End and Back-End Communication. Application Programming Interfaces (API)

enables the interaction and exchange of data between the client and server, making the

development easier.

Web application development is crucial for the reason of internet popularity and

reliance on online services. The development tools are worth using for the following
Web Based Task… 20

reasons. Firstly, web applications on the internet can be accessed by people all over the

world, having broader readers and users without place limitations. Additionally, creating

a well-designed web application can end with a positive user experience. A positive user

experience means customer satisfaction and a possible brand loyalty. Secondly, web

applications can be coded for automation, reducing manual work while improving

efficiency in data and transaction processing and management. And lastly, Web

applications can be updated directly into internet software, resulting in efficient edits,

improvements, and creations.

HTML

HTML, or Hyper Text Markup Language, is the standard markup language

used to create web pages by defining the structure and layout of content on the

internet. It uses elements such as headings, paragraphs, links, images, and other

content types, which tell web browsers how to display information to users. For

example, an HTML document contains tags like <html>, <head>, <title>, and

<body> that organize and define the various parts of a webpage from its metadata

to visible content. HTML elements generally consist of a start tag, content, and an

end tag, although some are self-closing. This language forms the backbone of web

page creation and ensures that content can be displayed correctly across different

browsers, enabling user interaction and webpage functionality. The structure

follows a hierarchical format that supports the development of accessible and

visually structured content, making HTML fundamental in web design and

development practices today (W3Schools, 2025).

Web Based Task… 21

PHP

PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely used open-source scripting

language that plays a vital role in developing dynamic and interactive web-based

systems. In the development of a task monitoring and management system for

Lucban Academy, PHP enables the seamless integration between the client and

server sides, allowing real-time updates, data handling, and efficient

communication within departments, clubs, and organizations. It supports database

connectivity, particularly with MySQL, to manage and retrieve task-related

information effectively. Moreover, PHP enhances the system’s functionality by

allowing user authentication, data validation, and automation of administrative

processes. Its flexibility and compatibility with various web servers make it an

ideal tool for creating scalable and secure school management platforms (Welling

& Thomson, 2024).

CSS

CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, is a stylesheet language used in web

development to define the visual presentation and layout of HTML or XML

documents. It separates content from design, allowing developers to control

elements like colors, fonts, spacing, backgrounds, and page layouts across

websites consistently and efficiently. This separation improves maintainability,

user experience, and accessibility by providing cleaner code and enabling

centralized style updates. CSS supports advanced layout techniques such as

Web Based Task… 22

responsive design, allowing websites to adapt to various devices and screen sizes.

It is a fundamental technology of the open web platform maintained and

standardized by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), with continuously

evolving modules that enhance styling capabilities for modern web applications

(W3C, n.d.).

Sublime Text

Sublime Text is a highly regarded text editor known for its exceptional

speed, efficiency, and lightweight design that makes it ideal for developers and

writers working on both powerful and less capable hardware. Users appreciate its

fast-loading times, intuitive interface, and extensive customization options

through a vast library of plugins and themes. Its compatibility with multiple

programming languages and integration with development tools boosts

productivity, particularly for web development tasks such as HTML, CSS, and

JavaScript editing. Despite its robust features, some users have noted limitations

such as the lack of a built-in debugger and occasional frustrations with update

frequency and licensing reminders. Overall, Sublime Text remains a popular

choice for those seeking a fast, reliable, and versatile editor that supports efficient

coding and writing workflows (GetApp, 2025).

JavaScript

JavaScript is a versatile, high-level programming language that plays a

crucial role in web development by enabling interactive and dynamic content on

Web Based Task… 23

websites. Originally created by Brendan Eich in 1995, it has become one of the

core technologies of the web alongside HTML and CSS, used by nearly all

websites for client-side scripting. JavaScript supports multiple programming

paradigms including event-driven, functional, and imperative styles, and features

dynamic typing and prototype-based object orientation. Its ecosystem is vast, with

libraries and frameworks that cater to web, mobile, and even server-side

development through environments like [Link]. Recent trends in JavaScript

development focus on improving security, enhancing artificial intelligence

capabilities with libraries such as [Link], and expanding meta-

programming features to increase flexibility and efficiency. The language’s ability

to run code directly in browsers and its continuous evolution to meet modern web

demands ensure its dominant role in programming today and foreseeable future

(Meta, 2024).

Synthesis:

The discussion on development tools provides researchers with a clear foundation

for building the web-based task monitoring and management system for Lucban

Academy. By understanding the roles of front-end, back-end, and database tools, the

researchers can design a system that is both functional and user-friendly. The

explanations of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP guide the team in creating an

interactive interface, secure data processes, and real-time features essential for

monitoring tasks. Additionally, the emphasis on frameworks, APIs, and database

management ensures efficient communication between the client and server sides of the
Web Based Task… 24

system. The use of reliable editors like Sublime Text also supports faster and more

organized development.

ISO/IEC 25010- System and Software Quality Standards

ISO 25010 is an international standard that provides a framework for assessing

and managing software quality through eight key concepts. According to Qmii (2024), it

highlights functionality, which ensures that software performs its intended tasks

accurately and completely, and reliability, which focuses on stability and consistency

under various conditions. Usability measures how easy and satisfying the software is to

use. Security safeguards information through confidentiality and authentication, and

maintainability ensures the software can be easily updated or repaired. Portability

examines how well the system adapts to different platforms, and compatibility assesses

its ability to work with other systems.

As stated by Certifications (2025), Functionality in ISO/IEC 25010, or Functional

Suitability, refers to the ability of a software product or system to provide functions that

satisfy both stated and implied user needs. This characteristic includes functional

completeness, which ensures all required tasks and objectives are fully covered.

Functional correctness guarantees the software delivers accurate and precise results.

Functional appropriateness measures how well the functions help users accomplish their

specific tasks. This quality is key to ensuring the software meets its intended purpose

effectively and supports user productivity and satisfaction.

Moreover, Accuracy, a core part of functional correctness in ISO/IEC 25010,

means the software reliably produces correct and precise outputs according to specified
Web Based Task… 25

requirements. High accuracy ensures the software’s behavior is trustworthy, with output

data matching input and expected results without errors. This reduces the risk of faulty

decisions based on incorrect system behavior. Accuracy is vital for applications where

precision and correctness directly affect outcomes, such as financial, medical, or

engineering software.

Accessibility under ISO/IEC 25010 is a sub-characteristic of usability,

emphasizing how easily all users, including those with disabilities, can access and use the

software. It requires designing user interfaces and interactions that accommodate diverse

needs, including visual, auditory, and motor impairments. Accessibility also involves

incorporating support features like screen readers, keyboard navigation, and adaptable

display settings. This ensures the software is inclusive and usable by the widest possible

audience, improving overall user experience and compliance with regulations (Britton,

n.d.).

Synthesis:

The related literature on ISO 25010 serves as a valuable foundation for this study

by providing a structured framework for evaluating and managing software quality. It

underscores the significance of key attributes such as functionality, reliability, usability,

and security, which are essential in ensuring that software systems operate effectively and

efficiently. The concepts of functional suitability and accuracy establish a clear basis for

Web Based Task… 26

25010 offers a comprehensive guide that can support this study in assessing, designing,

and enhancing software quality to achieve optimal performance and user satisfaction.

Conceptual Framework

The study’s objectives are to develop a web-based task monitoring management

system for Lucban Academy’s departments, clubs, and organizations, and learning the

related literature will feed knowledge and understanding to fulfill the objectives. Task

management refers to assigning and organizing tasks to complete required outputs

flawlessly. Monitoring refers to the constant observation and analysis of tasks to ensure

the flow of progress. Educational clubs and organizations promote academic and personal

development and success to students by enhancing activities and programs held.

Development tools are programming languages, libraries, frameworks, test tools, and

IDEs that support the creation of a software, case specifically a web-based monitoring

system. And lastly, the ISO/IEC 25010 is defined as a software quality standard that

ensures the functionality, reliability, usability, and security of the created software, the

monitoring system. The increasing complexity of academic and extracurricular activities

within educational institutions necessitates a more efficient approach to managing and

monitoring tasks. Traditional paper-based systems often result in miscommunication,

delays, and a lack of accountability.

A web-based task management and monitoring system can serve as a centralized

platform to address these inefficiencies by allowing real-time updates, automated

notifications, and seamless collaboration among stakeholders (Laudon & Laudon, 2020).

Through this system, Lucban Academy can streamline its operations across departments,
Web Based Task… 27

clubs, and organizations, enhancing coordination and promoting productivity. School

clubs and organizations also play an important role in developing students' leadership and

teamwork. According to Torubeli et al. (2024), these organizations help improve students’

communication and organizational skills through active participation and responsibility.

However, without proper tools, many groups may struggle to manage their activities

effectively. With the use of a digital system, coordination between club advisers and

officers can be improved, promoting accountability and better performance in school-

related tasks.

Web-based monitoring systems are designed to collect protect, and analyze data in

real time, improving efficiency (Jankowski, 2025), here are the features included: The

systems support remote accessibility through web applications for flexible and timely

access (Ramanathan & Ramanathan, 2023; Swingwood, 2024). Automated Notifaction

mechanism provides instant updates and warnings through many connections or

channels, minimizing human effort and error ( Vashistha and Singh, 2021). Adding

interactive reports promote fast reports and clear communication between members

(Sanlien Technology, 2025). Lastly, Security and Access control led by authority that

secure authentication, communication, and information as well as anomaly detection for

regulatory compliance and quick incident response.

The development tools boost the efficiency and accuracy of software development

by providing built frameworks, organized libraries, and comprehensible UI to ease and

guide researchers in creating software. To ensure the quality and effectiveness of the

system, the study uses appropriate web development tools and follows the ISO/IEC

25010 software quality standard. Using the right programming tools and frameworks
Web Based Task… 28

ensures reliability and efficiency in developing web-based systems. (Das, 2024)

Moreover, these concepts guide the development of the proposed Web-Based Task

Monitoring and Management System for Lucban Academy Senior High School.

Figure 1. Input - Process - Output

Figure 1 presents the study’s input-process-output model, which illustrates how

the proposed web-based task management and monitoring system is developed. The input

phase consists of all essential elements required for the creation of the web-based

monitoring system. This includes understanding the process and features of the system to

ensure it meets the needs of clubs and organizations in Lucban Academy. The

development tools, HTML, PHP, CSS, Sublime Text, and JavaScript, serve as the

technological foundation for designing and coding the platform. Additionally, data

gathered from questionnaires and the active participation of respondents provide valuable

insights that help identify user requirements and preferences. These inputs collectively

serve as the groundwork for building a functional, user-centered web-based system

tailored to organizational task management.

The Process stage involves a series of steps that transform the gathered inputs into

a functional web-based application. Web design focuses on creating an attractive and

intuitive interface that enhances user experience. Programming and GUI (Graphical User

Interface) development ensure that the system’s functionalities operate smoothly and that

users can interact easily with the platform. Surveys are conducted to collect data on user

feedback, preferences, and experiences with the system. Data analysis then interprets this

information to evaluate system performance, identify potential issues, and determine

areas for improvement. Together, these activities ensure the system’s design,

functionality, and user satisfaction are effectively addressed.
