4)Selection METHODS:
a) window selection : Left to right (Blue color)
you need to select entire object in this selection.

b) Crossing selection : Right to left (green color)


you can select part of object to select entire object.

c) Fence selection : left click for fence start point and then F + Enter.
create fence lines crossing the objects to be selected.

d) De-Select object : press shift key and select object to d-select

2) UNITS :
command : UN >
Select length type a) Architectural = EX. 10'-6-1/2" (Feet & Inches)
b) Decimal = EX. 20.5 (mm)
c) Engineering = EX. 10'-6.5" (Feet & Inches)
d) Fractional = EX. 20-1/2
e) Scientific = EX. 0.001E
Select precision (0,0.0,0.00 .......)
CLOCKWISE : IF WE KEEP THIS OPTION ON THEN ANGLE WILL BE POSITIVE IN CLOCKWISE
DIRECTION. (KEEP THIS OPTION OFF ONLY)
Select angle type & precision
Click on "Direction" option
Select Base angle.
Click on Ok

3) LIMITS
Command : LIMITS Enter
Specify lower left corner or (ON / OFF) : click / X,Y Enter
Specify upper right corner : click / @X,Y Enter

To ON the limit, again activate command & select ON option

ON : IN THIS WE CAN ONLY DRAW INSIDE THE LIMITS AREA.


OFF : HERE YOU CAN DRAW EVERYWHERE i.e INSIDE AS WELL AS OUTSIDE THE LIMIT AREA.

F2 : Maximize / MINIMIZE command window
F3 : Object snap ON / OFF
F4 : 3D object snap ON / OFF (USED IN 3D)
F5 : ISOPLANE Change (Used for Isometric Drawing)
F6 : Dynamic UCS ON / OFF (USED IN 3D)
F7 : Grid ON / OFF
F8 : Ortho ON / OFF (Crosshair orientation will be locked in 90 Degree Increments)
F9 : Snap ON / OFF
F10 : Polar tracking ON / OFF
F11 : Object snap tracking ON / OFF
F12 : Dynamic input ON / OFF

4) DRAFTING SETTING
command : DS >
a) Snap & Grid :
i) Grid : -Use grid style option to show dotted grids in 2D modelspace/ block
editor / layout
- Give grid X & Y spacing
- Adjust Grid behaviour to show or hide grids beyond limit.
ii) Snap : - Give snap X & Y spacing to snap the distance while using
command.
- Select snap type : a) Grid snap - Rectangular snap
(Orthographic view)
Isometric snap (Isometric view)
b) Polar snap - it snaps the distance specified in Polar Spacing option in
increments.

b) Polar tracking
-Make polar tracking option ON (F10)
-give increment angle
-Give additional angle if required
-Go to snap & grid
-Make snap ON
-Select "polar snap" option
-Give polar spacing

Polar angle measurement : 1) Absolute : 0 Position will be always on the right side
of reference point.
2) Relative to last segment : last segment angle will be
considered as 0 position.

c) Object snap (F3)


-Make "Object snap" option ON
-Select object snap modes
-This will snap object points in command only
-Object snap tracking (F11) : - Make "Object snap tracking option" ON
- Select object snap modes
- Go to "Polar tracking"
- Select object snap tracking settings :
i) Track orthogonally only - horizontal / vertical
ii) Track using all polar angle settings - increment angle /additional angle

d) Dynamic input
-Select "Pointer input " to show X & Y co-ordinates with crosshair. go to settings
to specify input method format.
-Select "Dimension INPUT" to show length & angle with crosshair
-Select "Dynamic prompts" to show Command prompting, command input & additional
tips.
-Make Dynamic Input On using F12

e) Quick properties
- Press Ctrl+shift+P to ON/OFF
- When you select object , it shows properties of selected object.
- You can make changes into that.

f) Selection Cycling
- Press Ctrl + W to ON/OFF
-This is used to select required object from multiple intersecting objects at a
point.
