Behavioral

 Disruptive pattern in overt behaviors


 All children display certain amount of emotional outbursts and socially inappropriate
behaviors but revert to the 4Ds of disorders.
 According to the US center of Health and Human Science: a disruptive pattern of behavior
lasting for more than 6 months causing impairment in home, school, and other social
settings is termed as behavioral disorder.
o It should be a disruptive pattern
o 6 months
o Different settings
 3 types
o ADHD
o Oppositional defiant
o Conduct disorder

ADHD

 Attention and hyperactivity


 A disorder that leads to problems in attention and impulsive behavior disrupting normal
routine.
 Most common form
 5-12 percent prevalence rate
 Inattention
o Inattentive type
o DSM points (cover)
 Hyperactive type
o In a social situation, acting inappropriately
o Cannot wait for their turn
o Constant fidgeting
o Running around in the classroom
o Talking excessively
o While playing, these children make noise
o Throwing tantrums due to one’s own inattention and hyperactive impulsive
behaviors/or when restrained by parents
 More commonly in males than females
o Ratio: 3:1
 Icd 10 – hyperkinetic disorder – severe type of ADHD
Oppositional Defiant Disorder

 Vindictiveness: wanting revenge


 Defying authority
 Not obeying rules
 Breaking things, not really harming the person or the property to a large extent
 Really touchy, get angered easily
 Angry at the authority figure – resentful – then forming the ground for vindictiveness
 In males than females
 4:1
 Diagnosed at 6-7 years, usse pehle gets easily brushed under the rug – very difficult to
distinguish between normal and abnormal
 Onset is early

Conduct Disorder

 Behavior is inappropriate in social settings


 Disruptive manifestation of aggression towards other human beings, property, and animals.
 Remorseful and lack of empathy+callous
 Least bothered and superficial/callous individuals
 Certain authority figure is coming, reprimanding, no remorse shown
 They are least bothered even about their academic performance
 Unchannelized aggression leading to symptoms of conduct disorder
 Bullying, threatening someone
 Correlation with pyromania
 Run two times in at least six months
 Late out at nights
