8. Functional characteristics
8.1 Temperature control
The internal temperature of the product is controlled by only 1 sensor of
temperature, located on the cold plate or secondary plate, in the compartment
refrigerator. Thus, this product does not have a thermostat.

The temperature sensor

send signal to the Control
Electronic, according to
with the reading of

You will turn off the compressor.

-10
Service Manual

Note: These are recommendations, but the proper adjustment is the one that remains...
according to the use and needs of the Consumer. For example, when he puts
food load, the degree can be increased in the Electronic Control.

9. How to operate the control panel

The temperature control must be

regulated to better serve the
food preservation conditions
according to the degree of use of the
refrigerator. The temperature is adjusted
pressing the control button until the
desired position.

--11
Service Manual
For cold days, with few foods
stored and few openings of
door, avoid regulating the temperature of your
refrigerator in super cold position (four
(lights on), this can cause a
freezing in food.
For cold days, the temperature control
the refrigerator should be set to position 1 (1°
LED on.

Under normal usage conditions, the control

the refrigerator temperature should be
in position 2 or 3 (2nd or 3rd LED on).

For hot days, many foods

stored or a lot of door opening
the temperature control of the refrigerator
it should be in position 4 (4th LED on).

--12
Service Manual

For intense use of the refrigerator such as

purchases, parties or cooling more
quickly use the control over food
position 5 (Super Cold–4 leds on).

10. Initial test routine (automatic)

Whenever the product is plugged in, an automatic testing routine is
started. It exists for detecting faults in product assembly and MUST NOT
TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION BY TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.

Situation 1: Hot Product

--13
Service Manual
10.2 Situation 2: Cold product
There is no automatic testing routine.

11. Frost system

11.1 Refrigerator compartment

The defrosting of the refrigerator compartment is automatic, without the need for
turn off the product, and it is carried out alternately with the cycling of the Compressor.

The melting water flows down the back wall on the inside of the compartment.
refrigerator and is directed by a drain to the evaporation vessel located
about the Compressor, where it is evaporated (assisted by the heat of the Compressor).

11.1.1 Drain cleaner

It is important that the drain, which is located under the drawer lid of
legumes, be cleaned monthly or when food residues or objects
they obstruct the passage of melting water. To do this, pour a little water
note through the drain, checking if it has flowed into the evaporation container,
about the Compressor. If the water does not drain freely, use the drain cleaner to
clearing the passage by placing and removing it repeatedly from inside the drain.
This product is Cycle-Defrost (automatic), meaning that every time the compressor is
disconnected, the ice formed on the cold plate melts, the water is directed by the trimmer,
it runs along the edges at the bottom of the cabinet, falls into the channel and drains away through the drain, remaining

stored in the evaporation vessel, where it evaporates slowly with the heat of
operation of the compressor.

--14
Service Manual
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT REMOVE the drain cleaner from the location, as you may lose it or damage it.
If the drain cleaner does not enter easily, check if there is something blocking its path.
passage through the drain. If there is any obstruction, remove it and place the drain cleaner in
Instruct the Consumer to clean the drain with the drain cleaner periodically.

11.2 Freezer compartment

The defrosting of the Freezer compartment is manual. To perform it, proceed
as below:

Turn off the product by removing the

power cord from the outlet.

Pull the drainage "pin" up and

wait for all the water to drain
that was formed in the thaw.

--15
Service Manual

close the drain by pushing it to

down

Reconnect the refrigerator by plugging it in

plug it back into the outlet.

IMPORTANT!
NEVER LEAVE THE DRAIN PIN PULLED, as warm air will enter
causing excessive ice formation in the freezer compartment.

12. Hermetic System

12.1 Replacement of the cold plate (Secondary Evaporator)

a) Unplug the product from the outlet;
b) Remove the internal components (refrigerator), the Deflector, and the Finish of the
Cold Plate
c) Release the Temperature Sensor attached to the Cold Plate;

Collect the gas load, according to procedure BTRF0126

e) Cut the tubes connecting the Cold Plate to the Primary Evaporator (this cut
it should be done a little above the lokring rings);
f) Remove the cold plate by pulling the tubes down;

--16
Service Manual
g) Assemble the new Cold Plate with Lokring Rings and carry out the RUS, as per

procedure BTRF0126
h) The remaining assembly should be done in the reverse order of disassembly.

12.2 Replacement of the primary evaporator

The Primary Evaporator of model CRD36G is not replaceable. In the event of
leakage must send the report to the CATg.

IMPORTANT
REPLACEMENT OF THE DRYER FILTER IN ANY REOPERATION OF
UNIT
LETTUCE IS MANDATORY!
DO NOT USE ANTI-FREEZE AGENTS (e.g. Methyl alcohol), in
reoperation of the Sealed Unit, as these agents will damage the Compressor.
THE USE OF ANTI-FREEZE WILL VOID THE WARRANTY OF
COMPRESSOR.
Correctly perform the procedures to reoperate the hermetic system (unit
salad). Always use the Vacuum Pump.
Startup tests of the Compressor should not be carried out without it being
linked to the hermetic system (sealed unit).
When reworking the product, REPLACE the Dryer Filter with a NEW one.
Only use exclusive filter for R134a. Consult BTRF0126 for details.
more details about the procedure for the execution of the Reoperation of
Sealed Unit.

13. Refrigerant fluid

In the hermetic system, R134a is used as the refrigerant fluid. It is of the HFC type.
Hydrofluorocarbon
IMPORTANT!
Only trained technicians in the reoperation of Sealed Units with HFC.
They are authorized to perform maintenance on the products. Remember that the
maintenance equipment and some parts are exclusive to this type of
cooling fluid.

--17
Service Manual
Gas filter
Due to operating with the refrigerant fluid R134a, the gas filter uses greater
amount of drying agent than the filters used in products that
they operate with gas R12. Therefore, when replacing the gas filter, always use the
specified for this type of refrigerant fluid.

15. Compressor
Os produtos são montados com Compressores EMBRACO ou TECUNSEH,
depending on the model and/or voltage. These compressors are prepared for
work exclusively with the gas HFC R134a.

18. Secondary evaporator / Cold plate

The secondary evaporator is responsible

for cooling the compartment
refrigerator. It has a protection
plastic at the bottom with the objective
to direct the melting water to the
refrigerator wall.

19. Vacuum Breaker Valve

Located behind the vegetable drawer, the valve is designed to relieve pressure.
of opening the door, due to the formation of vacuum inside the product.

--20
Service Manual

20. Stabilizer foot casters

The CRD36G model has two wheels at the rear that facilitate
movement and two leveling feet in front for product adjustment in position
desired, however it is recommended to keep the product slightly tilted backward
facilitating the closing of the door.

To remove the casters, you must

replace the Compressor Base. To
remove the leveling feet, just
unravel them.

21. Doors and gaskets

The refrigerator and freezer doors are insulated with polyurethane.
forming a set with the panel. The gaskets are of the 'push in' type (fitting) and are easy
substitution. It is not necessary to stick or release any part for the substitution of
gasket.

--21
Service Manual
22. Bushings and stops
The freezer door uses a click stopper bushing at the bottom to assist the
closing the door, locking its flap in the hinge, when the door is being
closed. This type of bushing prevents the door from remaining ajar, in cases where
that the consumer did not notice that the door did not close.

23. Self test

The electronic board has a testing routine that should be accessed by
technical in the services. To access the routine, follow the steps below:
