and differential manometers, Simple numericals related to pressure measurements, Total pressure and

PRACTICAL COMPONENTS OF IPCC
PART – A_CONVENTIONAL EXPERIMENTS
1. Determine the viscosity of oil using Red wood viscometer and Say-bolt viscometer.
2. Measurement of pressure using different Manometers for high and low pressure measurements
(manometers using different manometric fluids).
3. Working principle of different flow meters and their calibration (orifice plate and venturi meter).
4. Determination of the drag and lift coefficients of standard objects using a wind tunnel.
5. Determination of the force exerted due to the impact of the jet on flat and curved plates.
6. Working principle of different flow meters for open channel and their calibration.
7. Effect of change in cross-section and application of the Bernoulli equation.
8. Use any CFD tool to explore the effects of pipe geometry and flow conditions on the behavior of a
single fluid inside a pipe.
9. Perform a CFD analysis to investigate how the pressure and velocity distributions near a rotating
cylinder change with different rotational Reynolds numbers.

1. Reynolds apparatus for investigating flow regime transitions and critical Reynolds number in pipe
flows under variable conditions.
2. Experimental investigation and analysis of head loss in pipe systems under varying geometric and

3. Apply CFD simulations to investigate the interaction of multiple fluids around a cylindrical surface.
