How the period of oscillation of a pendulum
varies with the length of the string.
Definition of an Oscillation:
One full swing of a pendulum moving from
one side to the other and back to the
starting position.
Why we time 10 or 20 oscillations:
Instead of timing one oscillation, we time 10
or 20 oscillations to get a more accurate
result and then divide the total time to get
one oscillations time.
Period (T) = total time ÷ number of oscillations
This gives a more accurate result.

My Simple Method (Pendulum Timing)
1. Hang the bob using a string of a certain
length.
2. Pull it a bit to the side and let go (don’t
push).
3. Use a stopwatch and time 20 oscillations.
4. Period = total time ÷ 20
5. Change the string length and do it again.
