Impact of Media on Children's Behavior

The document argues that children's exposure to television and the internet is leading to increased brashness and violence at an early age, as their innocence is being eroded by inappropriate content. It suggests that the current warnings for such content are ineffective and that children should be nurtured in a peaceful environment rather than exposed to negativity. The author advocates for monitoring children's access to media and teaching them to differentiate between reality and fiction to preserve their empathy.

These days, children are becoming brash and rough at an early age

because of their exposure to television and

internet.

Yes. The uncontrolled exposure to the internet and its horrifics has
made the upcoming generation to become more rough and violent at
a very early age. The very innocence that draws us to children is now
being progressively destroyed.
Television and internet due to lax laws and freedom of speech and
expression are allowed to air any content that they deem fit for the
viewers provided that they apply proper warnings beforehand. These
warnings, originally meant to cancel out the young population so that
their minds don’t get filled the filth , are unfortunately very easily
bypassed. The warnings are a joke and the more restricted the access
the more attractive the content seems.
Young children should be out in the world with their peers and being
one with the nature. That’s a surest way of ensuring their proper
development. Agreed the world outside has much more horrors
within in than the internet but the age at which they should be
exposed should be monitored. Seeing the same news as a 50 yr old
man and a 10yr old kid can evoke very different responses. What
might seem as dangerous and hazardous and a cautionary tale as an
adult may seem like a cool story as a kid. The influence that these
mediums hold is absolutely incomparable and uncontrolled.
Kids respond better and grow in a much more nurturing way in a
peaceful environment which isn’t constantly riddled with negativity
and sad news. Hearing such things , all the time since a young age
becomes their default setting and then turns into a new normal for
them which makes them pretty, numb to horrifics, later on making
them devoid of any empathy and this is what makes them more
harsh or violent any nature without any remorse.

The only way of tackling this problem is to either barr complete

access to the internet or, as adults, we can accept the reality of the
dwindling control that we might have on our children. so, instead of
shielding them from the internet and television , we can try our best
to make them understand the difference between the real and the
reel life and monitoring their access . Internet is a dual edged sword.
It is making us much more intelligent and smart but at the same time
it is snatching the one thing that makes us humans- which is
empathy.
