8/12:Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has changed because of technology.

In what ways
has technology affected the types of relationships that people make? Has this been a positive or negative
development?
In this day and age, the advantages of technology have led to it being widely used in every aspect of our lives,
including the way we form connections with others. This essay will elaborate on the influences of electronic
devices on our relationships, along with coming to the conclusion of whether it is a favorable trend or not.
To begin with, technology has greatly influenced humanity's connections in two main ways. Firstly, with the aid
of modern techniques, the rate of communication is accelerating. Now that there are many social media
platforms available on the Internet, together with the ability to make phone calls and send messages, people no
longer need to spend a large amount of time writing and waiting for correspondence compared to the past.
Moreover, digital tools have allowed users to connect with a great deal more people and maintain those
connections more easily. By means of Internet community, individuals can join any types of group to meet
people sharing hobbies, characteristics or ambitions in common and keep talking with them despite distance or
time.
While the Internet brings many benefits, its effects are not always positive. One major drawback is that it can
reduce the time allocated to face-to-face interactions. This is related to the “FOMO” phenomenon, standing for
“Fear of missing out”, which, in this context, means that we constantly want to communicate with more and
more people, resulting in neglecting valuable connections around us. Another issue is that it reduces the quality
of eye-to-eye communication. With the advent of small, portable and convenient technical devices, and those
who are addicted to them, individuals spend less time talking with each other when gathering, which wreaks
havoc on their relationships. However, despite the aforementioned problems, the merits of technology in
interconnections still outweigh its demerits.
In conclusion, technology has transformed bondings by accelerating the rate of them and encouraging people to
get in contact with more people worldwide, ranging from all ages to all genders. Although this development can
negatively affect face-to-face interaction, I believe the overall effects of it are positive.
