Scene: At a restaurant in Da Nang
(The director and the customer arrive at the entrance of a cozy Vietnamese
restaurant.)
Director: Ms. Smith, welcome to one of my favorite restaurants in Da Nang. They
serve some of the best local dishes here. Please, after you. (Gestures toward the
door)
Customer: Thank you, Ms. Johnson. I’m really looking forward to this. (Smiles)
(They walk into the restaurant and are guided to a table by the waiter.)
Scene: At the table
Director: (Looking around) Isn’t the atmosphere lovely? I really like the warm lighting
and the traditional decor.
Customer: (Nods) Yes, it’s very charming — so peaceful and authentic. It feels like a
perfect spot to experience local cuisine.
Director: Exactly. This place is quite popular among locals, which is always a good
sign. (Smiles)
(The waiter hands them the menu.)
Director: Shall we take a look at the menu? If you’d like, I can recommend a few
dishes.
Customer: That would be great — I’d love to try something authentic.
Director: (Scanning the menu) Well, if you want to try something truly special, I
highly recommend the Bánh Tráng Cuốn Thịt Heo — rice paper rolls with pork. It’s a
signature dish in Da Nang. The dish comes with thinly sliced pork, fresh herbs, and
rice paper. You wrap it yourself and dip it into a rich, savory dipping sauce made from
fermented fish sauce — it’s flavorful but very balanced.
Customer: That sounds delicious. I’d love to try it.
Director: Perfect choice. And for dessert, I heard you were interested in Chè Liên,
right?
Customer: Yes! I read about it online. It’s a type of sweet soup, isn’t it?
Director: Exactly. It’s a cold dessert made with coconut milk, lotus seeds, and water
chestnuts. It’s sweet but not too heavy — very refreshing after a meal.
Customer: That sounds amazing. Let’s order both! (Smiles)
(The director signals the waiter and places the order.)
Scene: After the meal
Director: That was wonderful, wasn’t it? The Bánh Tráng Cuốn Thịt Heo was just as
good as I remembered.
Customer: It was absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors and textures was
incredible. And the Chè Liên — so refreshing!
Director: I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Vietnamese cuisine really has a way of balancing
flavors beautifully.
Customer: Absolutely. Thank you so much for introducing me to these dishes.
(The waiter brings the bill, and the director settles it.)
Director: It’s been a pleasure dining with you, Ms. Smith. I hope you’ve had a
memorable experience.
Customer: I definitely have. Thank you for this wonderful evening.
Director: (Smiling) My pleasure. I’ll see you tomorrow at the meeting. Have a restful
night.
Customer: You too. Good night, Ms. Johnson.
(They smile and exchange a handshake before parting ways.)
