1- Define the professional you are?
Well, this question is quite difficult to answer, especially when it comes to trying to us
define as a professional, but I will try, I have a degree in Physical Therapy, specialized in
Traumatology-Orthopedic Physiotherapy, I consider myself a visionary person who tries to face my
difficulties, obstacles, challenges that you encounter ahead of you. I am an advocate of manual therapy,
I do not dismiss the adjunct treatment with the devices, but I believe that the great success of
rehabilitation is in touching the other, I am at the service of promoting health, prevention and
rehabilitation, finally at the service of life.
2- In your view, how is the job market in your field?
The job market is booming, especially in the healthcare sector as a whole. Post-graduates,
the search for the first job begins, comes the salary squeeze that we all know, we have to
taking courses, attending conferences, pursuing postgraduate studies to keep ourselves updated, all of this incurs high financial costs.
Few value what the professional truly deserves, although I have faith that one day
We physiotherapists will be more valued, but we have to make this an obstacle to be overcome.
defeated, because if we don't we will never get anywhere, we have to persist in what we
to aspire, to try to be not just another in our field but rather to seek to be the best at what we
people do and love to do, fighting every day for our professional recognition.
3- Briefly describe your working methodology.
Well, I work in the Physical Therapy department of the Municipality of Pimenta, I am an instructor of
Pilates at Harmony Studio in Piumhi-MG and I attend private patients at home. Always
Whenever possible, I try to take courses and attend conferences to update and improve my skills.
services. Right now I am developing projects, and I intend to start one this year.
new specialization.
4- How do you see the issue of rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals with disabilities in
our society? Do you have any suggestions?
Well, this topic is very broad, it is still an issue that deserves more attention for
part of our society, respect, acceptance, non-prejudice, the clearer this is in
the better the inclusion of individuals with some disability in our
society. Unfortunately, Brazil is still crawling when it comes to reintegration of
disabled individuals in society. Suggestions? Countless, among them very simple things, such as
build access routes for wheelchairs.
5- What does it mean to you, as a health professional, to deal directly
or indirectly with the lives of people?
It's extremely gratifying. Physical therapy allows us to interact every day with individuals from
various personalities, sex, race, disabilities, habits, beliefs, anxiety, among others. For being
dealing with a treatment often in the long term, this allows us trust in each other and this
it's very beautiful, we end up becoming someone special in the life of another person, as well
gain someone very special for your.
6- Briefly describe the importance of your profession in your life?
Well, I may be biased when it comes to my profession, I love what I do and being able to help people.
with some illness or still act in promoting health, in disease prevention, each
active movement of a patient who did not have it, a smile, the first step, that is one thing
inexplicable, an indescribable feeling.
7- Why did you choose this profession?
I awoke to physical therapy, interestingly at the age of 10, there was a clinic nearby
next to my house, and I, like any other curious child, would stay on the porch of the
my house looking at the entrance and exit of people from that place, often wheelchair users, people
with crutches, and I watched them over time, leaving without those aid objects, walking,
smiling, to me that was fantastic. Since then, I always said that I wanted to be, to follow that
a profession that 'made others walk and laugh', physiotherapy, little did he know that this profession would go much further,
besides that.
8- How do you understand or define your profession?
I believe that physical therapy has great social importance because it works with three
essential things in the life of a population, health promotion, disease prevention and the
rehabilitation, always aiming to maintain or improve the quality of life of people.
9- As a health professional, how do you see and understand the occupational therapist?
As a very important area of health, I know that it is a broad field of
act in the field of rehabilitation, but unfortunately I have little contact with these professionals.
from T.O, I don't think like some professionals in the field, that T.O overrides physical therapy, I think that
each one has their field of action, in their different skills, I understand that this needs to be
changed. Physical therapy and occupational therapy integrate to provide the best stimulus for the patient, this
a collective vision focused on the individual's functionality enriches the therapy, the results
obtained are very favorable, where people with disabilities, after a long time of
stabilization or worsening, regain a function to improve its execution. I believe that
We have to work as a team, aiming for the quality of life of society.
10- What methodological line do you adopt in your therapeutic approach?
So, I always try to work with responsibility, critical sense, creativity,
social awareness, citizenship, clear communication, precise, with an innovative spirit, performance
Qualitative, I understand that with this, the physiotherapist has the skills to exercise their profession.
