Pronunciation tips
The pronunciation in Italian is often the same as in Portuguese, just a bit more emphatic, and that's where
a little prior knowledge of the language is required.
To acquire this skill, it would be interesting to watch programs or news broadcasts on subscription TV,
talking with older Italian relatives, or even listening to very popular Italian songs nowadays.
Well, overall, here are some tips:
ci,ce are pronounced as 'tchi', 'tche'. For example: cipola, cinese
gli, gle: are pronounced as 'lhi', 'lhe'. For example: aglio, figlio
gn is pronounced with 'nh'. For example: lasagna, Spanish.
chi, che: are pronounced as "qui", "que". For example: chiuso, qualche
z:é pronounced as 'ts'. For example: manzo, polizia
sc is pronounced as 'ch'. For example: conoscenza, piscina.
