RESEARCH PAPER N°1
1.- WHAT IS A WORKOVER RIG
Workover rigs are used in the well completion operation, which is the preparation and
production startup of a recently drilled oil or natural gas well. The services of
Workover in the field of repair aims to increase production or repair wells.
existing. These teams are used to isolate exhausted areas in wells, open new producing areas
to increase production or to increase production through fracturing processes or
acidification. They are also used to convert producing wells into injection wells in
secondary recovery, to increase the production of the reservoir through water displacement.
Other Workover services include major repairs in the subsurface, such as repairs to the
casing, primary cementing repair, recover fish and divert or re
drilling wells.

2.- WIRING OR ELECTRIC CABLE
They use a braided steel cable that has an electrical conductor inside it, which gives it

The wireline unit is used in all stages of a well's life, while the
Most of the slickline operations are carried out through pipes.
3.- PRODUCTION TUBING
The Production Pipeline is the main conduit for the fluids produced by the well. Also
protects the casing pipe from pressure and corrosion. Its size can vary from several
inches in fractions of inches. The most common sizes are 2 7/8" and 2 3/8" in diameter.
external. Generally, the production tubing runs from the wellhead to the zone
product. The pipe is classified by size (external and internal diameter, external and internal diameter
from the union joint of the pipe, weight; lbs/foot) and grades such as J-55, N-80, P-110, etc. The pipe of
producción puede estar hecha de materiales exótcos para soportar las presiones, velocidades y
corrosiveness produced by the well and the well environment. An internal lining can be applied.
as protection against corrosion.
3.1. Functions of the production pipeline
• Lavar pozos. • Colocar tapones cemento. • Inyectar acido a los pozos. • Correr y anclar empacaduras. •
Inject steam.
3.2. Tubing specifications
Diámetros Disponibles: 2-3/8”, 2-7/8”, 3-½” , 4-½” Rosca: E.U.E. 8 Hilos redondos por pulgadas, Hydril
C.S. Longitud: 30 pies Grado: J-55 , N-80 , P-105.
4.- WHAT IS A PULLING TEAM
They aim to repair downhole equipment, such as production tubing.
(tubing), rods or pumps and their replacement when necessary, as well as for fixing tools in the
bottom of the well and for other light tasks. Pulling services are thus aimed at the
mobile installation of the well, not so for the work on the well structure and the productive formation.
5.- WHAT IS A WIRE LINE
Wireline, terminology that means that a wire of a certain size is being used.
to carry out some services inside the well. The basic use of Wireline is
manipulate the wire line tools by lowering and raising them inside this.
The wireline has some disadvantages, such as limited strength, in well operations.
especially if they are wells with a lot of inclination or directional, then it is important to know their
thickness and its breaking points of each size that we have in the market known diameters
with 0.092 –0.108 –0.125.
The function of the Wireline unit is an integral part of the well operation and
endings.
It becomes necessary to determine a more appropriate methodology for the startup, the
proactive maintenance of the permanence of its flows, with the acquisition of data from the wells
open or closed completed.
6.- WHAT IS A SLICKLINE
Slickline operations involve maintenance tasks, such as wax removal, scale removal,
sand and fill accumulations; the termination of the flow and the installation of packings
hydraulic via sealing plugs, cutting of probes, placement or removal of plugs,
deployment or withdrawal of cables or removable valves and the recording of data in memory
coming from the drilling fund through production memory recorders
(MPLT) and drilling visualization cameras.
The use of Slickline units by SGS provides you with a variety of measurements and services.
of intervention in wells that are essential during the production period. The services

access to the areas and the replacement of the gas extraction valves. They can also measure the
depth and the drilling of the well (through loading cannon setups), as well as
pressures and temperatures at the bottom of the drilling (through load casings). They have
tests and trials of our Slickline units have been carried out and we currently have four
units deployed in Papua New Guinea and Australia; a fifth is in phase
construction. Contact us for more information.
RESEARCH WORK N° 2
1.- REVERSE MARK II UNIT
This unit offers an improved alternative to the design and geometry of conventional units.
Despite the similarities in appearance, the geometry of the Reverse Mark II units can reduce the
torque and power requirements in many pumping applications.
The Mark II unitorque unit, as shown in the following illustration, is a variant of the design
conventional where the position of the arms and the master post is changed to obtain a system
unitorsional, in order to reduce the torque in the gearbox. This is generally capable of
support more fluid without overloading the equipment compared to the conventional unit or the
air-balanced, however, its manufacturing is more costly and requires greater balancing. The
the balancing of this unit is necessarily done on the crank and its additional requirement is for
counteract the structural imbalance, caused by its geometry. The capacity of the box varies from
114 Mlbs-in to 1280 Mlbs-in and the stroke length between 64 and 216 inches.
2.- CHURCHILL PUMPING UNIT
Available only from the manufacturer Lufin, these offer the same hardness and strength as the
conventional units. They have been regularly used in shallow wells.
3.- LOW PROFILE PUMPING UNITS
Compact pumping units designed for installation in irrigation fields withsystemsof
mobile sprinklers or in urban areas where the characteristics of the low profile would be desired.
4.-ROTAFLEX PUMPING UNITS

the costs for deep wells, problematic and of high potential.
The Rotaflex almost perfectly meets the ideal situation for mechanical pumping: long and low stroke.

5.-DYNAPUMP PUMPING UNIT
It is a computerized pumping unit system. It usessensorselectronics, equipment
hydraulic and computerized monitoring systems with the purpose of extracting oil as much as possible
as efficiently as possible for both deep wells and shallow wells.
The Dynapump consists of two main components, which are the pumping unit and the unit of
power. The unit of power handles the pumping unit and is the central control of the system. This
consists of acomputercontrolled by a system ofmodemradio, electronicssolid
motor controllers and hydraulic pumps.
This consists of a computer controlled by a radio modem system, solid electronics,
motor controllers and hydraulic pumps. Currently, this equipment is used in the Southeast of
California, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Venezuela. Some of these units have exceeded the
fluid production record for hydraulic systems, being able to produce rates that exceed
10,000 Bbls/d.
