The study and understanding of manual threading is of great importance, as it allows for easy
montaje y desmontaje de piezas o elementos en maquinas y otros elementos, facilitando
operations and reducing costs.
General objective:
To execute and machine internal manual threads using taps.

Specific objectives:
1. Recognize the various instruments and materials used in this method of
rosy
2. Implement the creation of a nut using taps.
3. Acquire practical and theoretical knowledge about manual threading.
Roscado:
Threading can be done with hand tools or machine tools.
such as drills, milling machines, and lathes. For manual threading, taps are used.
Taps, which are cutting tools used to create the threads of screws and nuts.
in metals, wood, and plastic.
Manual threading:
Manual threading can be done using a tap or a die. The tap is
a cutting tool used to create threads on the internal part of holes,
generally in a metal or plastic piece, on its part, the threading die is a
manual cutting tool used for the manual threading of bolts and screws.
Both tools must have a specific diameter and an established thread pitch.
by some threading system.

Characteristics of a screw
Thread type:
There are different types of threads that differ in the geometric shape of their fillet, which can be:
Triangular
Square
Trapezoidal
Round
sawtooth
etc.

Choice of the rings

The designation of the thread is the identification of the main elements involved.
in the manufacturing of a specific thread, it is done through its representative letter.
and indicating the dimension of the outer diameter.

Thread Cutting Taps: they are used to machine internal threads. It consists of a type of
of tempered steel screw, with longitudinal grooves or channels, of shape and
appropriate dimensions, capable of turning, by chip removal, a thread on a
previously conducted drill.

Threading dies: they are like tempered steel nuts with grooves or channels.
longitudinal, of appropriate shape and dimensions, capable of carving by cutting off
shavings, a thread in a cylinder and thus obtain a screw or threaded rod.

Procedure:
1. Determine the thread to be used, in this case it will be a 6mm screw.

2. Identify the diameter of the drill bit using the metric thread range cap.
this case will be with a 5mm drill

3. Make a guide where the threading of the piece will be done

4. Drill the piece with the appropriate drill bit, in this case it will be with the 5mm drill bit.
5. Choose the right male and take the male holder (6mm)
6. Secure the male in the collet.

7. Lubricate the tap before starting the threading

8. Place the male perpendicular to the piece to be threaded.
9. Tighten and start screwing.
For each complete turn made with the chuck, return this ½ for
evacuate the shavings
11. Remove the male part to clean the workpiece of any resulting shavings if necessary
12. Lubricate before continuing with the threading process
13. Once the desired length is reached, retract the male and clean the hole to
let there be no shavings.
14. Place the desired piece and screw it in with the corresponding screw (6mm)

Conclusion:

The manual threading process is very useful for touching up some maintenance or the
generation of new threads according to specific needs on elements of
different materials.
