Lab prerequisites
This lab assumes you have already completed lab five of this course.

Copilot
In this lab, you will provide vaccine dates for pets, configure your environment for Copilot, and then use
query Copilot for pets that will need vaccines soon.

Exercise 1: Setup
In this exercise, you will update the vaccine dates for some of the pets and configure Copilot for your
environment.

Task 1: Update pet records


1. Navigate to the Power Apps maker site and make sure you are in the correct environment.

2. Select Apps and launch the Happy Tails Office application.


3. Select Pets and click to open one of the pet records.

4. Select 4 months in the past for Date of Bordetella vaccine, Date of influence vaccine, and date
of rabies vaccine.

5. Select a Breed.

6. Open the other pet record.


7. Select 6 months in the past for Date of Bordetella vaccine, Date of influenza vaccine, and date
of rabies vaccine.
8. Create a new pet record and name it Mount.
9. Select 12 months in the past for Date of Bordetella vaccine, Date of influence vaccine, and date
of rabies vaccine.
10. Select a Breed.
11. Create another per record and name it Cloud.
12. Select 12 months in the past for Date of Bordetella vaccine, Date of influence vaccine, and date
of rabies vaccine.
13. Select a Breed.
14. Select Pets and make sure all the pets have vaccine dates. You should add a few more pet
records to make sure your Copilot has plenty of records for evaluation.

Task 2: Setup Copilot


1. Navigate to the Power Apps admin center
2. Select Environments, select the environment you created and click Settings.

3. Expand the Product section and select Features.

4. Select On for AI-powered chat experience.

5. Scroll down and click Save.


6. Go back to Settings.

7. Expand the Product section and select Behavior.

8. Select Monthly channel for Release channel.

9. Scroll down and click Save.


10. Navigate to [Link] and select the environment you created.
11. Select Solutions and open the Happy Tails solution.

12. Select Tables and click to open the Pet table.

13. Click Properties.

14. Expand the Advanced options.

15. Check the Track changes and Appear in search results checkboxes, and then click Save.

16. Click Views.

17. Click to open the Quick Find Active Pets view.

18. Remove the Created On column from the view.

19. Click + View column and select Date of Bordetella vaccine.

20. Click + View column and select Date of influenza vaccine.


21. Click + View column and select Date of rabies vaccine.
22. The view should now look like the image below. Click Save and publish and wait for the
publishing to be completed.

23. Click on the  Back button.


24. Click on the  button again.
25. Do not navigate away from this page.

Task 3: Test Copilot


1. Select Apps and launch the Happy Tails Office application.
2. Select Pets. The Copilot chat pane should open.
3. Type Vaccines expire every 6 months, are there any pets with vaccines that already expired?
And then click Send.

4. Copilot should reply with a list of pets with expired vaccines.


5. Ask copilot Are there any pets with vaccines older than 10 months? And click Send.

6. Copilot should respond with pets with vaccines older than 8 months. If Copilot doesn’t provide
the pet name, ask to show the pet name.
7. Copilot should now show the names.
8. Ask Copilot to show you their Household name.
9. Copilot should show their Household names.

10. Try asking your own questions and see how Copilot responds.
