Leadership and Communication (MGT522)
Leadership shapes the way people communicate, collaborate, and perform within
organizations. Different leadership styles influence both how leaders connect with
people and how they manage tasks and achieve objectives. Relational aspects of
leadership focus on building trust, motivating others, fostering engagement, and
maintaining strong interpersonal connections, ensuring that teams feel supported
and valued. Functional aspects, on the other hand, involve setting goals, making
decisions, organizing work, and guiding performance to achieve results efficiently
and effectively. Understanding how leaders balance these relational and functional
responsibilities is essential for recognizing the impact of leadership styles on team
dynamics, communication patterns, and overall organizational effectiveness. By
examining these dimensions, it becomes possible to see how contrasting
approaches can produce different outcomes, highlighting the importance of
adapting leadership and communication strategies to specific contexts and goals.
Accordingly choose two different leaders who exercise two different and
contrasting leadership styles and critically evaluate them!
