It is the first Monday morning of the new semester, and I arrive early at school for my first English class.
I’m a lible nervous because I don’t know anyone yet. The teacher is already in the room. She is standing
1. in front of the whiteboard and talking to a student. I take a deep breath, walk in, and find a seat 2. next
to a girl. She has a big smile. She is a/an 3. extrovert, so she seems happy to meet someone new.

She turns to me and says, “Hi, I’m Ana.” Ana is very 4. talka3ve and asks quesFons to everyone, even the
students she just met. She has 5. curly hair and wears a long green 6. dress with colourful shoes. She
tells me she loves helping new students and wants to be a teacher one day.

Her best friend, Marta, is sifng on the other side of the classroom. Marta is a bit 7. shy. She listens
carefully but doesn’t speak if someone doesn’t talk to her first. Behind her is Peter. He’s completely 8.
bald and wears a big hat. He says the hat helps protect his head from the sun since he doesn’t have any
hair. He’s generally very 9. quiet, but when he talks, he always says something smart or funny. He seems
to read a lot.

I think I like this class. Everyone here looks 10. friendly, and even though I was nervous at first, I start to
feel excited to be here and ready to learn.
