Assignment 1 — Test Planning and Strategy

1. Test Objectives
1. Verify Correctness and Reliability of Core Resource Allocation Functions: Ensure accurate
enforcement of availability limits, validation of allocations, prevention of over-allocation, and correct
triggering of conflict notifications.
2. Ensure the System Supports Business Processes Efficiently: Confirm smooth performance of
workflows such as logging hours, allocating resources, and generating utilization reports.

2. Required Testing Types


Functional Testing: Ensures that all core behaviors (FR-101 to FR-104) work correctly, protecting the
company from allocation errors.
Performance Testing: Validates system stability under load, especially during high-usage periods
such as monthly reporting.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Confirms that the system meets user and business expectations
and supports real workflows.
Security Testing: Ensures protection of sensitive consultant and financial data from unauthorized
access.

3. Scope Definition
In-Scope:
• FR-101: Consultant Availability Logging
• FR-102 & FR-103: Allocation Rules and Conflict Notifications

Out-of-Scope:
• Integration with external payroll or billing systems
• Mobile app version or UI styling enhancements
