DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT
The Subject Community Nursing II is developed in the 2nd year of the Nursing Career, with a workload of
6 hours per week to be carried out over a period of 32 weeks; based on international and national health policies,
inserted within the framework of state policy guidelines, both in the National Constitution (2000) and in the Plan of
Economic and Social Development and therefore in the Social Strategic Plan (PES), aimed at the care of people, families and
community, starting from the conception of man as a human being that is in constant interaction with his environment; studied
families, their rights and duties by conducting home visits in order to apply the nursing process, using the history of
family health based on a theoretical model. Performing in health facilities with direct care functions
the users, executing health programs, managing nursing care, promoting health in the communities,
in schools, high schools, and health establishments, thereby promoting quality of life and health.
During the first 10 weeks, the theoretical component will be developed, followed by the practical activity in the
health establishments designated for that purpose. The methodological strategies are focused on the development of competencies that
allow them to perform as future professionals in community health establishments.

JUSTIFICATION OF THE SUBJECT
The Community Curricular Unit II has a theoretical-practical approach. The participant integrates the contents of Community I into
Community II, strengthening the actions being carried out and emphasizing the nursing intervention under a care model.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE SUBJECT
Provide tools that allow the student to apply the nursing process in the management of care
to the family based on a Theoretical Model of Nursing and on health promotion taking into account ethical principles
of human care, as well as the acquisition of skills and competencies for professional practice, in the different strategies and
programs implemented by the MSDS.
