Scene 3

Narrator:
There are moments in life that change everything. Not with noise… but silence. Not
with celebration… but loss. This was one such moment in the life of a young
cricketer who was yet to make his mark — Virat Kohli

Story teller:(stage par akele khade hokar )

December 18th, 2006 — a day that should've begun like any other. Virat Kohli was
playing a Ranji Trophy match for Delhi. But while he was fighting on the pitch…
life was changing off it.

(Stage shifts to a cricket changing room bench. Virat sits with a towel over his
head, exhausted. A team assistant enters, approaches virat and then....)

Assistant: Sirr.....(the assistan will bend a bit towrds virat and will act like
whispering)

(Virat freezes. Slowly lifts his head. The crowd noise fades to silence.)

Story teller:
That was the moment he was told... that his father had passed away in the night. A
heart attack. Sudden. Unfair. His hero—gone.

Act :( home : Virat and his mother sit on the floor, holding each other. Silent
sobbing. No dialogue. Just soft instrumental music playing in the background )

Narrator :(during the above act)

His mother, now widowed. Virat, barely 18. And a silence that echoed louder than
any applause he would ever hear.

(Pause. Fade to black. Music dips to transition. )

Story teller :(during this story telling the pitch for match should be set)
Days passed. But Virat didn’t retreat. He didn’t pause. Grief could’ve broken him…
instead, it shaped him. In that silence, a fire was born.

Coach:
You sure about this?

Virat:
I didn’t come this far to stop now.

(Cricket's match)(commentators + crowd hootings)

(Crowd sound fades. Spotlight on Narrator. Interview chairs being rolled in.)

Narrator :
He didn't just play. He turned pain into power. Every run he scored that day… was
not for glory — but for gratitude. He didn’t raise his bat for the crowd. He raised
it… for someone watching from far above.

Interviewer:
Virat, your performance today was extraordinary — especially under such difficult
circumstances. How did you stay focused?

(flashback starts)
Virat :
“It was a very tough time for me. My father passed away just a few days before that
match. But he was the one who drove me to practice every morning. I knew he
would’ve wanted me to play. So I did. And I kept thinking about him the entire
time.”

Story teller:
That day, the world saw talent. But what it truly witnessed… was character. Virat
Kohli didn’t rise despite his pain — he rose through it. And from that moment
forward, his story was never just his own — it belonged to every dreamer who chose
courage over comfort.
