clue about the true nature of LaVey's philosophy and magic. The fact that many of the ideas of
LaVey are not original, and that their philosophy is largely made up of pieces and scraps of
philosophers from other authors whom he has rewarded according to his own style and tastes - unique
for its time— one could also say this about other characters featured in Lords of the Left-Hand
Path. We could say that about anyone who has created any religion, whether it be Gautama the Buddha or
Gerald Gardner. What makes LaVey unique in this aspect is that he sometimes seems to insist on the idea
that he invented a way of thinking, that his Satanism is somewhat similar to a product about him
which has some type of 'reserved copyright rights'. But even more relevant than the idea that
LaVey will invent his Satanism from pieces and scraps of obscure and unknown philosophies.
