EBCDIC and ASCII Alphanumeric Codes

The document describes two widely used alphanumeric codes: the 8-bit EBCDIC code used by IBM and the standard 7-bit ASCII code. Each code assigns unique binary numbers to letters, numbers, and other characters, and the document provides tables showing the code assignments for each code.

ASCII Alphanumeric Code

The American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) is thecode

alphanumericstandard used in keyboards, in processors and in other tasks of
data exchange. Letters, numbers, and single key press commands are represented
with 7-bit words. Typically, a selection bit or bit is sent first
start, followed by the code with the LSB (least significant bit) first. Since it is a 7 code
7
bits, there will be 2 or 128 groups of bits of possible codes.
