Credit Interview Dialogue Script
Characters:
Ms. Sarah Ducaya (Credit Investigator)
Mr. Saldie Kho (Loan Applicant)
Ms. Ducaya: Good morning, Mr. Kho. Thank you for coming in today. I am Ms. Sarah Ducaya,
the credit investigator assigned to evaluate your application. Before we begin, can you please
confirm your full name and the purpose of your visit?
Mr. Kho: Good morning, Ms. Ducaya. My name is Saldie Kho, 35 years old, and I’m applying
for a personal loan in the amount of ₱100,000 to renovate my family’s home and purchase new
appliances.
Ms. Ducaya: Thank you, Mr. Kho. For documentation purposes, I would like to confirm that
you are seeking a five-year loan term at an annual interest rate of 12%, payable through equal
monthly installments. Is that correct?
Mr. Kho: Yes, that is correct.
Ms. Ducaya: As part of our assessment, we need to verify your employment status. Could you
please describe your current occupation, employer, and length of service?
Mr. Kho: I have been employed for seven years as an accounting assistant at a local commercial
bank in Lucena City. My monthly salary is ₱35,000. In addition, I operate a small online
business where I sell mobile gadgets, which provides additional earnings of approximately
₱10,000 to ₱12,000 per month.
Ms. Ducaya: That is noted. Are these income sources stable, and do you have any written
financial statements or tax documents reflecting your sideline earnings?
Mr. Kho: Yes. I maintain records of my sales and file income taxes for my business
transactions. I can provide my income statements upon request.
Ms. Ducaya: Kindly elaborate on how you intend to use the loan proceeds.
Mr. Kho: The main purpose is to renovate our family residence, which needs structural
improvements and interior repairs. Additionally, I plan to purchase essential home appliances
such as a refrigerator and washing machine. These upgrades will improve the quality of living
for my family.
Ms. Ducaya: Understood. Home renovation is considered a productive use of funds and may
increase property value.
Ms. Ducaya: To evaluate your repayment capability, I need information on your existing
monthly expenses and financial obligations. Do you currently have any outstanding debts?
Mr. Kho: Yes. I have an existing salary loan balance of ₱20,000 with monthly payments of
₱2,000, which will be fully settled within ten months. Aside from that, I allocate around ₱15,000
monthly for household expenses.
Ms. Ducaya: Thank you. In that case, your current obligations appear manageable. Have you
reviewed the estimated monthly amortization for this new loan?
Mr. Kho: Yes. Based on my calculation, the monthly payment will be approximately ₱2,224. I
am confident that my salary and business income can cover this amount comfortably.
Ms. Ducaya: Have you ever defaulted on any previous loans, or experienced delays in your
payments?
Mr. Kho: No, Ms. Ducaya. I have always paid my obligations on time. In fact, my previous
loans were paid ahead of the maturity date. I value my credibility as a banking employee.
Ms. Ducaya: That reflects positively on your creditworthiness. How would you prioritize loan
repayment in case of unforeseen financial challenges?
Mr. Kho: Repayment will remain my top financial priority. I have savings set aside for
emergencies and I maintain a disciplined budgeting system to ensure all obligations are met.
Ms. Ducaya: Thank you, Mr. Kho. Based on your answers, your income, employment stability,
and responsible financial behavior indicate a strong repayment capacity. We will now proceed
with the evaluation and you will be notified once the decision is finalized. Do you have any
questions at this point?
Mr. Kho: None at the moment, Ms. Ducaya. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to
your positive response.
Ms. Ducaya: Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Kho. This concludes our interview. Have a
good day.
Mr. Kho: Thank you. Have a good day as well.
