As we have seen in previous articles, code Q is adopted.

internationally by Armed Forces and it is a standardized collection

of three letters, all starting with the letter Q, initially developed
for commercial radiotelegraphic communication and later adopted by
other radio services, especially amateur radio.
In the area of private and public security, professionals use the Q code.
as a standardized form of communication that facilitates the service of

of communication like HT and NEXTEL for fixed and mobile teams, such as
also from the famous PX for communication with third parties like the drivers
carriers and dealership services. Below we have a summary of
Code Q - simplified / phonetic code / numerals and slang used in
PX radios.
The original Q code was created approximately in1909by the British government,
as a "list of abbreviations... prepared for use by British ships and stations
licensed coastlines by the general postal agency. The Q code facilitated communication
between maritime radio operators who speak different languages, hence their quick
international adoption. A total of forty-five Q codes appear on the 'list
of abbreviations to be used in radiocommunication," which was included in the service of
regulamentação anexo à Terceira convenção internacional de radiotelegrafia. A
the convention took place inLondonand was signed inJuly 5of1912, becoming
effective inJuly 1stof1913.

Os códigos Q compreendidos entre QAA-QNZ são reservados para uso aeronáutico;

QOA-QOZ for maritime use; QRA-QUZ for all services.

Current use
Over the years, modifications have been made to the original Q code to reflect the
changes in the practice of radio communication. In the original international list, for example,
QSW/QSW meant 'Should I increase/decrease my spark frequency?', in
meanwhile, spark-gap transmitters[1]were banned
in the United States in 1920, resulting in an obsolete meaning of those codes.
More than a hundred Q codes were listed in the 'Post Office Handbook for Radio Operators'.
produced by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of the United Kingdom in the years of
1970, such material addresses subjects like meteorology, radio direction finding
location, radio procedures, search and rescue, and so on.

In aviation, the use of QAA-QNZ has been defined, more commonly QNE, QNH and
QFE that refers to altimeter adjustments relative to the ground, mean sea level.
sea and local pressure2, in addition to the QDM and QDR codes that correspond to
air navigation. Such codes are used in communications with agencies ofcontrol of
air trafficas an unequivocal abbreviation, where security and efficiency are vital
importance

Among the codes QOA-QOZ are reserved for maritime use, however with the disuse of
Morse codeSuch codes are not used anymore these days.
