Sound Sensor Circuit Design Report

This document presents the report of a workshop practice on the construction of a sound sensor using electronic components such as a C106 transistor, potentiometer, resistor, LED, button, and electret microphone. It explains the theory of each component, the procedure for assembling the circuit, and tests that the sensor works correctly by detecting variations in sound when the potentiometer is adjusted.

SOUND SENSOR

REPORT OF PRACTICE N 1
TEMA:Sensor de sonido
NOMBRE:Robinson De La Cruz
Course: Second E
MORNING SECTION
Professor: Eng. Liliana De La Cruz
DATE OF EXECUTION: 03/20/2019
FECHA DE ENTREGA:03/04/2019

2. OBJECTIVE:
Design and implement a sound sensor circuit using a circuit
integrated a C106 transistor
Specific objectives

✓Know the correct functioning of each of the components

✓ Assemble the circuit with all the mentioned materials

✓Check the correct functioning of the sensor

3. THEORETICAL INFORMATION:

A. TRANSISTOR C106

An SCR has three connections:anodecathodeygateThe door is responsible for

control the flow of current between the anode and the cathode. It basically works as
adioderectifiercontrolled, allowing the current to flow in one direction only.
As long as no voltage is applied to the gate of the SCR, conduction does not begin and in
the moment the voltage is applied, the thyristor begins to conduct. Working
inalternating current the SCR is de-excited in each alternation or half-cycle. Operating in
direct current, a forced blocking circuit is needed, or the circuit should be interrupted.

B. POTENTIOMETER
A potentiometer is one of the two uses that resistance [Link] resistorvariable

the power of the mechanical variable resistor to be used.

taking advantage of the Joule effect. The resistor is a material made of carbon and others
resistive elements to reduce the current flowing through it, the maximum current in
a resistor is conditioned by the maximum power it can dissipate in its body,
this power can be visually identified from the diameter without the need for
another indication.

The technology known as LED (for its initials in English, Light Emitting Diode, which in
Spanish means Light Emitting Diode) also known as Diode
Luminosity basically consists of a semiconductor material that is capable of emitting a
electromagnetic radiation in the form of light.

E. BUTTON
Buttons come in various shapes and sizes and can be found in all kinds of
devices, although mainly in electrical and electronic appliances.
Buttons are generally activated when pressed with a finger. They allow the flow of
current while they are activated. When it is no longer pressed, it returns to its position.
of rest.
F. ELECTRET MICROPHONE
The electret condenser microphone, simply known as electret, is a variant
of the condenser microphone that uses an electrode (fluorocarbonate or polycarbonate of
fluor) plastic sheet that when polarized does not need power.

We place the integrated circuit on the protoboard.

We place the components (potentiometer) anywhere but close together.

D. We connect a resistor from the right leg of the transistor to the middle leg of the
potentiometer
We connect the microphone's negative leg to the outgoing resistor of the transistor and the
positive to the positive side of the protoboard

Then we connect any of the two remaining legs of the potentiometer.

and the other on the right side of the transistor.

7. QUESTIONNAIRE
A. How does the sound sensor work?

Sensors of this category are used exclusively for electronic design, not
we offer no spare parts or devices for any type of professional audio applications.
The sound sensors published here are the ones that are available.
Thank you for your understanding.

B. Write for what the c106 transistors are frequently used.

Frequently used in power electronics, in the field of control, especially

motor control, as it can be used as an electronic type switch.

8. Conclusion:

The audio sensor construction was completed successfully.

It could be observed that the sensor works correctly and the potentiometer was also useful for
raise and lower the sensitivity with which it perceives sound

9. Recommendation

By using a potentiometer we can increase and decrease the sound sensitivity.

Know the correct functioning of each electronic component, specifically the Transistor.
